trainsskyscrapers Posted February 13 Share Posted February 13 (edited) Beluga Heights deciding to release debut singles "Whatcha Say", "In My Head", and "Ridin Solo" amidst Chris Brown's "Rihannagate" is probably one of the best decisions a fledgling label has made in recent music history... because both of them make the same music and haven't grown creatively since 09/10. For his first album in 9 years, I'm not mad at the strategy. Unfortunately, the non-pop new tracks are produced by Mally Mall, who is on the lowest, French Montana tier of hip-hop producers for hire. This doesn't really stand a chance long-term. His team was better off buying the best beats from up-and-coming producers and helping them break out.
