Madonna's next album

Featured Replies

So now that the dreaded Interscope years are over and she's back with Warner, what are you guys hoping for Madonna's next studio album?

Would you like her to address politics again, or are you hoping for pure escapism / carefree dance bops?

We know she's been working with Max Martin, Stuart Price, Nile Rogers and Honey Dijon which implies she's going full dance again.

What do you think?

Literally Madonna would be back on top with the gays in like 2 seconds if she made another sonic-pushing dance album with lyrics that aren't totally cringe, nor any features.

Give us a 90s version of Confessions with interesting looks like the pink shoulder cut & sunglasses...instant smash.

She should just have fun and do whatever she wants.

This.

My personal hope is she scraps the Mirwais styled vocorder from Madame X entirely.

if anything, I need the next LP to be streamlined. Her last few albums, some good and some bad, have been so incohesive, messy and whiplash inducing. she needs to work with a limited number of producers and a 12 song tracklist.

No, keep Mirwais :fish2:

But she works best with Mirwais when someone else is in executive control (e.g., Let It Will Be). He's her most interesting producer, but he shouldn't be in the driver seat.

Dream scenario is an album anchored on Honey Dijon's house sound, Mirwais adding his touch (e.g., I Don't Search I Find) and everything mixed / executive produced by Stuart Price.

Madonna's version of Renaissance incoming.

Mirwais is great for her in production, just not in the vocal one :skull:

Her vocals on "Popular" are the best we've had in years. More of that, please. :clap3:

I hope she explores her artistry and shifts to something experimental and heartfelt.

We had some really interesting moments on Madame X but I need her to stop chasing trends and doing collaborations with artists just for commercial's sake.

I kinda use Rebel Heart though :gaycat3:

Madonna has nothing to prove. At this point of her career, there’s no need for her to make a cohesive/commercial album that appeals to critics.

If she wants her album to be a messy compilation of tracks that she likes and enjoyed making, then so be it.

Get William Orbit and Mirwais :jonny6: ROL, Music, American Life is THAT 1-2-3 PUNCH

I think she could work wonders w Mark Ronson. Surprised they haven't worked w each other yet

Also, whoever worked on Miley's Flowers, I want her to work w them

I'd rather her team just focus on her older material and re-promote it back to this generation. No one cares for the new Madonna music lbr.

the Celebration vinyl in march is a nice start.

Dance would be nice. I get the calls for a 90’s house album and wouldn’t be mad about it, but I honestly want to see her take on an intentional 80’s throwback sound, something like what artists like Carly have done. It would be fascinating to see someone who’s the blueprint for that kind of sound make her own statement about it. I get that some part of her might feel like she’s been there and done that already, so I don’t necessarily expect it.

Vocals like Popular seem appropriate. They match the reality of the fact that she’s not 25 anymore with what she can still do well. I also want more spoken word sections, because she’s always knocked those out of the park. They’re also not necessarily expected with an 80’s throwback sound, so that could give the record an interesting, dynamic twist if executed well.

Sexy steamy 90s house with callbacks to Erotica. No Max Martin. We want Kaytranada and James Ford

true! how about one that appeals to her fans though?

if there'll ever be an album, throw the tired martin and such in the bin and go more acoustic folk ish. train the voice like she did for evita with a great coach and get her singing. the closest we got to a personal deep cut moment was on some rebel heart songs. more of that please

Whether it's on Interscope, Maverick, Sire and / or Warner, it will not be the material of a leader.

Release Nothing Lasts Forever, Never Let You Go, Beat Is So Crazy, Across The Sky, Take It Back and make it an EP :jonnycat:
