One of the most divisive & polarizing albums of the 2010s. Many argue this is her most eclectic and boundary pushing work, while others think it's too much of a hodge podge and mixture of genres that don't feel cohesive as a result. Most artistic experimental choice: Little Dreamer / Birds Of Prey

Songs that best show off her voice: You Lost Me / Lift Me Up / I Am

Personally, I'd go for Desnudate but it wouldn't do well. I don't see a smash lead single on Bionic, despite it having a few great songs.

monday morning should've been but nothing from that record would've been a hit.

Monday Morning, because:

 

Relatable lyrics for anyone.

Sounded fresh back then and it still sounds fresh to this day.

Showed a softer side of Xtina's vocals, which "may" have attracted different people than her usual listeners.

Glam

Bionic is great overall but I don't think any song from it would've smashed. 

Although maybe Monday Morning would've done better than NMT.

there's no hit. NMT was a fine choice. it makes a statement, up tempo, sonically represents the album. critics wouldn't take her seriously, radio wouldn't use any other song, so it doesn't matter what they chose.

None. She should've scrapped this project and release a pop ballads album instead with Just A Fool as lead single.

"WooHoo" IMO. It was a hit in my iPod at the time.

NMT is fine, other options are Monday Morning and Glam.

"I Hate Boys" if she wanted that same "bratty", "Whip It! - female roller derby", "superheroine comic book" vibe as her last Top 10 hit "Keeps Getting Better".

 

 

"Glam" if she was REALLY actually in competition with Lady Gaga. That record was campy, out of the 90s (with that Whitney Houston-inspired bridge), required a high-fashion sartorial video w/ Andre Leon Talley / Anna Wintour appearances... and she just needed a Madonna cameo to take things over the edge.

 

 

"WooHoo" w/ Nicki Minaj if she was chasing trends. It needed a kooky, colorful video like Nicki Minaj's "Stupid Hoe".

 

 

 

Last, but not least, "Prima Donna" featuring someone like Ludacris would've been the PERFECT urban single counterpart to any of these. (Of course, following her tried-and-true formula, You Lost Me was second single)

Glam. That song is perfection.

It's literally Future Nostalgia but a decade ahead. I don't think it would have smashed as hard as other singles at the time (Bad Romance, Only Girl, California Gurls etc), but it would have been a Top 10 hit worldwide, gained acclaim for it fresh sound and served longevity.

 

Then she should have followed up with Lift Me Up. Both would have been Top 10 globally. Other than that, I honestly don't see anything else doing well apart from You Lost Me had she pushed it more and maybe WooHoo if she capitalised on the Nicki feature.

Nothing would've ever become a hit there, I fear. If "Your Body" had been the lead single for THIS campaign, now we're talking...

 

Glam as originally planned is about the only thing I could hear on radio.

And I also get why people push "Monday Morning" as the best option. It's very relatable and, for a change, doesn't concern her. It's not like "I Am", "All I Need", "Lift Me Up", "Not Myself Tonight", "You Lost Me" and all. It's basically not me-centric for a change. And "Hey, forget about your Monday morning! We are never gonna be that boring" has that kinda anthemic vibe to it, NGL. Still wouldn't be a hit in the US, though.

 

Not Myself Tonight was the best option.

If not it then maybe Monday Morning, Glam or Woohoo.

it would have been a hit if it was released before Gaga's TFM/BTW

 

not to mention if the visuals was brighter too 

 

because her peers (brit, pink, kelly) was going bright around 2008/2009

 

bionic has more serious/sci-fi, yeah it's bionic but she can make it fun or bright?

 

the songs were good for 2009 alongside the techno-dance of Blackeyed Peas especially that Bionic title track is a bop!
