It's safe to say Katy's musical peak is well behind her. With a list of anthemic pop smashes under her belt: Is Katy Perry a Legend or an Icon?

I ultimately chose icon, but I wish I had a "none of the above" option!

I think she'll always be mentioned in conversations about 2010s pop music. She's not an artist who changed the course of music history.

ATRL told me ten years ago that she was a Female MJ.

Idk if KP6 is her big Emancipation comeback I'd call her a damn legend

Neither. Recession-era hitmaker is apt. :suburban:

She has iconic singles and videos. She doesn't have iconic performances though.

Both.

If she gets one more hit era she'll solidify her status as a legend.

Superbowl says hello???

Being an icon means contributing a lot to a certain era. Katy was one of the biggest hitmakers of the 2010s so she's an icon of that decade. She's a pop icon overall. But she's not a legend.

Her superbowl was not iconic it was a regular Katy Perry performance.

The fact that the most talked about moment was the left-shark debacle says the most.

Legend and this forum is so stupid nowadays

No it's true it's true. Imagine claiming that Katy's Superbowl is not iconic. They're lying through their teeth at this point.
