Maybe '"What It's Like to Be.......Me" would've worked better cause it'd tie in nicely with the other two albums at the time AND the 'me' from Overprotected before the beat kicks in.

Yes! Before The Goodbye is one of my favorite b-sides/bonus tracks along with I Run Away, Quicksand and Amnesia. 

I am also surprised these were downgraded to b-sides/bonus tracks as they all are single-worthy!

That would be a better title for sure. Or some lyric from a song on that album could work too. Like, "What's a Girl To Do" for example

I love this song, I play it a lot, but not some people acting like it deserved lead single status of IAS4U ATRL is really crazy sometimes.

Who said that? I said it should've been a single over Boys or I Love Rock & Roll, and I stand by that.

 

This song sounded like nothing on american pop radio back in 2001/2. It would've slayed the European charts, that's for sure.

Britney did an interview and was quoted as saying his songs weren’t good enough to make the album, and BT confronted her about it and she told him she was misquoted and never said that  So we’ll never know what actually happened, but I do feel bad for BT because  he was very complimentary towards her in that one Rolling Stone interview and was paid dust basically.

I doubt Britney would've said that considering she just revealed Before The Goodbye is her favorite song. More likely media spreading fake news like they always do

I think it was a misunderstanding because her label really wanted more Crossroads and pop like Bombastic Love on it. I think she probably meant her label didn't think BT's tracks were good enough.
