Concrete Rose is definitely her second best album and almost up there with her debut. It deserved to be much bigger. Don't Leave Me Alone, Take Me Tonight, Still Down and Every Lil Thing were all A+ 2000's mellow r&b

Only U is such a classic, but I do think Chapter II is stronger. Her entire 2002-2004 run is so underrated on atrl

Also the Concrete Rose album proves critics had NO idea what they were talking about when it came to female R&B in the 90s/00s. They thought it was a fad.

Collabs were about to dry out, Murder Inc. was close to defunct, Beyoncé and Ciara came out of the door swinging the charts, Kelis and Christina Milian dropped their hottest record of the year, JLo retired from music for a little while... she had ONE chance that year

I absolutely adore the first album. Never gave this album much attention, so I’m gonna give it a spin tonight 

Only U is a goddamn bop. I love how she switched it up and did it well.
