Selena is just not that girl. As you've indicated in the OP, she relies on the skill of her more talented collaborators. She has no artistic vision or talent of any kind. And for some pop stars that can work, but she also lacks stage presence, any performing ability and (the most fundamental quality) the ability to sing. She can't convincingly sell the product she's being paid to push. In all honesty, it's impressive she's lasted as long as she has.

Reunite with The Scene and serve us another Kiss & Tell/A Year Without Rain 

Drop the Fred again collab this or next month.

 

Then kick off new era in January with the lead single. We already know her next album will be heavily pop and some of the confirmed songwriters/producers include Ian Kirkpatrick, Omar Fedi, Nija Charles, Julia Michaels. A cohesvie concept and visuals is a must.

Single Soon was awful, if she thinks that’s a good idea, her next era is DOA.

 

She should go towards a mid-00s Timbaland direction. It’s a little tired at this point but I think it would work well for her and her abilities. A Nelly Furtado Loose-inspired era. 

She doesn't need her music career at this point, she has her acting and makeup. It is just a bonus for fans.

Release Stained and that Summer Walker Collab. Sad how scraps from 5 years ago is better than all the trash she’s been putting out since Stale

The amount of hate Gomez is receiving is beyond me. She only minds her own business but constantly gets attacked 

Anyway, I feel like her music does not really succeed unless she is featured on someone else's singles. She should put her acting career first imho.

OT: She's just not that girl. Not only does she not have any musical talent of her own, but she has no charisma.

I love Selena and I will always support her but I have come to accept that she just isn’t that girl. I think the best stuff she will ever give her fans will be acting projects. Music should just be seen at this point as a side project or gift to the fans.

I go back to Selena's music quite regularly, Rare's always a good listen in the background. But let's be honest, she hasn't had the drive and passion for music since the Revival era.

She should focus on Rare Beauty, she’s not a singer, she’s not an actress and as others have said she is not that girl despite people’s insistence to say otherwise. 

Release an album Q1 2024, promote it for a sec then focus on acting and other ventures for a few years, rinse, repeat.
