I used to think Perfect Illusion was one of her best songs but after hearing the demo I can't listen to it without thinking about how she botched it. 

 

Stupid Love on the other hand is a discography highlight with flaw-free visuals and liddos would be defending it harder than ARTPOP if it had charted better. 

It’s baffling that these are her last two leads… I think a couple Joanne songs and like half of Chromatica would’ve been better leads than PI & SL. 

Here last two leads were... interesting. Perfect Illusion is the better song but is so rushed. I mean the chorus starts like 20 seconds in? I like the song but I also hate it because it could've been so much better if it had more room to breathe. And the video is so jarring, the way it moves so quickly from shot to shot.

 

I liked Stupid Love on release but it's probably the worst song on Chromatica and truly a baffling choice for a lead single. The video is ok.

I maintain that Perfect Illusion is a eternal BOP, and the only reason why most of ya'll don't like it, is because it's not the typical gaga song ya'll bareback to.

Stupid Love is good, Perfect Illusion is really good. Stupid Love ended her streak of going against the trends when it comes to her lead singles tho, it literally has no edge to it.

JD/BR Full on Dance production when none of that was present in the Top 40 at the time

 

Dance music was mainstream during BTW but even that had it’s own vibe down to the production to the message of the song. 

I don't care what anyone says, Stupid Love was a BOP  I liked the music video and the cover too.

 

Perfect Illusion was a grower. I didn't like it at all back in 2016 but now I enjoy it quite a lot.

Timbaland and Justin Timberlake already did it first (and better) the whole mainstream dance music with FutureSex/LoveSounds and Shock Value. If anything, she follows the trend.

Timbaland sound was fused with R&B and Rhythmic sounds, Gaga was full on club music, 4 on the 4 beats. 

Both are horrendous and ultra confusing as leads, and do NOT represent the albums they come from

PI is by far the better song, but then again Stupid 💣 is Gaga’s worst single ever

She has truly lost it when it comes to lead singles.. Alice was right there, it would have made a perfect lead single

Perfect Illusion is my favorite Gaga lead single. I do like Stupid Love - its a fun bop - but I adore Perfect Illusion.

But are weird leads but PI > SL

Perfect Illusion is the better song & video.

 

Stupid Love has the slightly better cover, though both are BAD.

Her lead singles are something else
