Every year around this time the music landscape was dying waiting for january/february to release something - nothing exciting. 

 

This time around there has been good releases. Nicki, Tate and now SZA?

Hearing SZA say LANA is 'so far from the original album' makes me think this really is a new project vs a deluxe/continuation of SOS. I need the tracklist 

Watched the whole thing. I love her honestly and self-awareness

 

she said as soon as she dropped SOS, she didnʻt feel connected to it AT ALL anymore - since sheʻs in a different place. She says the deluxe songs are so different - sheʻs making things she likes cause she feels like it.

I am not getting “deluxe” vibes from this. It has its own name, entirely different from SOS, and probably her most personal title to date. She said the songs sound entirely different than SOS. It may not be a full 12 song album but I definitely feel like we’re getting at least an 8 or 9 song mini album and that’s perfect. I’m so excited.

 

I also know there’s no way this is coming this week. Any time all signs point to a release, it never happens. We’ll get it in January which makes the most sense!

Are you even familiar w/ her career? Everything accelerated so quickly for her after Love Galore dropped as a single and with how huge she’s become - that’s bound to be overwhelming and stressful for anyone.

 

She’s very genuine about her thought process with this and to me, it’s clear she’s extremely grateful just trying to balance it all. Didn’t think it was negatively said!

The interview is very well spoken. She does dwell a bit too long on her anxiety and self doubt but the honesty is so refreshing.

having the interviews she has done for the SOS release, even though doubting herself is an insecurity she'll always deal with, she was a lot worse back then.
