I believe Nicki is currently being promoted in Call of Duty as part of a massive promo deal, that was handed to her after a bigger artist declined.

This song was cute but it did not meet the sound of Super Freaky Girl and Barbie World which smashed. But -133 is an all time low freefall. Something went wrong.

She’s not listening to the Barbz at all… she’s doing whatever she wants lol.
 

Not everything needs to be a “hit”. It’s admirable that she’s in a space where she can drop whatever she wants & she’s made it clear she really loves this song & appreciates it’s reception so far.

 

If you want to get technical, it got no music video, no playlisting, she posted the entire song on her socials, and still debuted higher than songs from peers which received full campaigns. And it’s reception has been really positive. 
 

Shelved? You wish it may, you wish it might.

She can’t restart her era every time a single flops. Just release the damn album. We can’t have hits all the time.

In retrospect, it’s quite funny that some chart predictors thought this could challenge for #1

The quality is definitely there but she’s just not IT anymore.

The traditional promo rollout just has not worked in her favor in recent years (mostly from her choosing the wrong singles).  
 

And the one time it did (SFG), she dropped a greatest hits album.
