Dogs. But i also love cats and i'm currently on the process of moving to a new house (without my parents) and i think i will have a cat. 

I love my family dog but with me living alone a cat will be better

For those that voted cats:

They're more low-maintenance than dogs (dogs, iirc, have to be walked at least once a day), typically cleaner, and typically aren't as noisy and don't make as much of a mess. 

 

This thread got me thinking if my partner and I want to foster a cat. I think it would be kind of fun! If anyone has fostered a pet, I'd love to know the experience! 

Both are lovely in their own way but I wish random cats on the street would let me pet them

Dogs are like furry children who want constant attention and have high energy while cats are chill roommates who give you your space/want theirs but also give and enjoy affection and attention when you both need it 

Cats, they choose very carefully who they like compared to dogs who just likes whoever has food.

I live with two basset hounds atm but the way I’d immediately switch to cats

I don’t see them as at odds, both are cute.

 

I’m more of a dog person myself. But part of me wants a little black cat with yellow eyes though, like Salem from Sabrina

Cats are also emotional animals . Imagine not knowing this. Cats kill unwanted rodents & been used to kill animals that eat harvest etc.. there are stories of cats getting help for their owners in emergencies & can also be walked.
