The daily streams of the song are abysmal for how big it was back in the days. It doesn’t come close to the other dance hits of the same time like Poker Face, Bad Romance, Hot N Cold, Don’t Stop the Music… in fact it does like 10k more than Womanizer by Britney. Why is that? Do you still listen to Single Ladies?

nobody listens to the song for the sake of listening to the song. when you take a moment to listen to single ladies, you watch it with the video. i never streamed this on spotify because it just feels weird listening to it without the video

I was actually just listening today and its still one of the best produced pop dance tracks of all time. 

It's one of my least favorite Bey songs...even as a stan I don't listen to it ever.

Terrible song.

Once you watch the music video and some live performances, that's it.

We all know why, it’s overplayed.

Because no one wants to be a single lady or be reminded that they’re a single lady. 
 

Everyone wants their hole stretched out instead. 

People play it on their bachelorette party. People still remember the song, so it’s not forgotten.

The song was a moment, but the song is also super unique and truly stands out from anything at the time. The problem with songs like that is that they don't go very well with other songs in playlists, so it's often a skip. Doesn't mean it's forgotten, it's just not sought out for as often. I tried it in many playlists, including a workout playlist, but it just never works. Plus it's nowhere near her best, so add the two together and you have the reason for its streams. 

It's not forgotten at all. 

 

But the song was always just a little bit annoying like many hit songs are .

 

What made the song influential was the music video, so people are going to watch the youtube video over listening to it on spotify. Halo is the true iasf classic.

Sweet Dreams is on the same album, that's why 

Beyoncé is global.

It’s up there with thriller and Hail Mary for recognized videos and dance

I feel like using recurrent streams to measure if a song is remembered or not is a bit dumb. Like there's lots of songs I'd consider classics and everyone would scream along to at a party but I'd never go out of my way to stream.

 

Single Ladies is definitely remembered. Put it on in a club and everyone will do the "put a ring on it" hand wave thing.
