Which song was bigger overall?

I don't really know, but what I do know is that 'Popular' is the biggest soundtrack single of this year and both amazing artists are in it!!

 

Eh, if streaming existed back then Hung Up would have probably looked bigger on paper like Blinding Lights does now. Hung Up was such an event

More remembered and respected in the year 2050 : Hung Up but Blinding Lights will still get its flowers too. 

It's hard to say because BL has the advantage of being in the streaming era so naturally it has more longevity. But Hung Up went #1 everywhere which is especially impressive given Madonna had been in the game for two decades at that point.

 

Regardless, Hung Up is one of the greatest pop songs of all time. If there's any song that deserves the title of pop perfection, it's this one

A lot of mega hits of today look a lot bigger than any previous mega hits thanks to the staying power of streaming. A lot of the biggest classics of the past, especially before the 90s barely stayed on the chart beyond 20th week. Billboard tries to compare what's bigger across different decades and markets, but it's not rocket science and never will be.

Now why would you do this? Love both. Blinding lights will be a classic for generations but hung up is already there
