Better Paramore album? The 80s inspired springtime classic or their hard-hitting angsty mature return?

this is why is a good album but it feels a little light and unfinished. after laughter and hayley's two solo albums felt fleshed out and gave us a lot to chew on. in this era it's all about hormones in check and chiropractic appointments. like I know your back hurts hayley, but goddamn it we came to destroy men like chad! 

and the aesthetics of this era are just so bad. from the album cover to the merch to hayley's extensions and her outfits... 

After Laughter >>

Both are great but After Laughter did THAT. 

I love AL but i have to go with TIW 

The one that has pool on it.

 

This is why is also great tho, Paramore did that

in all honesty, After Laughter has always felt a bit frontloaded to me

 

I think I gotta go with This Is Why! but idk if they'll ever top the masterpiece that is self-titled

Really tough. Both have become tied as my second favorites, but honestly After Laughter's longevity in my library was something else. Perhaps my answer will change with time but for now I have to give it to AL

both great but after laughter is one of their best albums

This Is Why is more consistent for me, but After Laughter has fantastic highs. Pool & Idle Worship are career highlights.

I prefer the angst on This is Why tbh! 

I like TIW but AL packs more of a punch to me as I prefer upbeat music.

This is a though one, but im picking After Laughter because it has been one of my comfort albums for a while.

 

I think i slightly prefer ST over TIW too, but all 3 are amazing

hard to say, TIW is still very fresh to me so i'll have to decide when the novelty wears off

 

both amazing albums though, Told You So is their best song
