Before you sign up to Twitter do you have to tick the box that says “I am a miserable cvnt” - because that’s very much the vibe I get from there.

Then again, I guess the same could be said about ATRL.

If you read the thread it’s a joke. It’s pointing out the irony that Pink is clearly not queerbating despite wearing suits and masculine clothes. Which for some reason is exactly what Harry gets called a queerbator for (wearing feminine clothes).

It’s just poking fun

Are they really dragging here?

Nah it’s sarcasm  they’re using the same logic against those who say harry is queerbaiting

But he is.

She’s literally in a bikini with joggers lol

Don’t even **** with her music that much, but people overdid how masc Pink is. She came up during an era that most mainstream pop singers were a variation of a blonde lolita, hypersexual and frail bodied. When you look at her videos she still had a “feminine” touch. She used to wear corsets, crop tops, low waist jeans, even dresses. Clothes society usually see as feminine. No one would have blinked an eye if she had longer hair and didn’t have an “in your face” type of persona. Her body was always on point. She had muscle tone and strong abs, which was not really common for white pop singers, with that alt-chick 90s vibe . So people doing too much over light androgyny

This is actually peak sarcasm :ahh:

The same twinks complaining about queer baiting probably watch Beefcake Hunter videos and subscribe to gay4pay OFs.

Every time I hear someone use the queerbaiting thing in an non-ironic way I assume that person is mentally ill :rip:

I don't know why so many deliberately miss the point in these queerbaiting discussions. It's not about clothes or co-opting 'queer aesthetics' (whatever that means). It's about taking advantage of the ambiguity surrounding one's sexuality as a marketing strategy to increase their profile and make them more 'interesting' and 'mysterious', all while not having to deal with the scrutiny and prejudice faced by openly queer celebrities.

Harry Styles frequently fuels this ambiguity by bringing up the topic unprovoked in interviews, or inserting himself in issues surrounding gay representation in media like that infamous statement wanting more tender mlm sex scenes in films. That's why he's rightfully criticized, because yes, people cannot queerbait, but brands can, and Harry's persona is first and foremost the latter. Him and his marketing team make his 'mysterious' sexuality a core part of his appeal, which not only builds this image of a 'transgressive' male popstar, but also caters to the fantasies of many of his fans, which include the Larry weirdos who fetishize closeted gay men. Meanwhile, he ensures his videos and lyrics are heteronormative and 'palatable' enough to the mainstream masses in a way the work from openly queer artists like Lil Nas X, Sam Smith, and Troye Sivan aren't.

As far as I'm aware, none of this has ever applied to P!nk.
