Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift are currently two of the most famous musicians who experiment with different music genres. Miley famously transitioned from pop to hip-hop in 2013, and Taylor famously transitioned from country to pop in 2014. Both artists have dabbled in other genres in addition to those.

Which artist excelled more in which genre(s), and who has the better discography overall?

Bonus, who made better rap music?

Miley Cyrus is a master at it. She is truly excellent but this forum is dominated by Swifties so expect Taylor Switf to win this.

Better Than Revenge, Haunted, State of Grace being rock music. :rip:

Country obviously goes to Taylor.

Pop is close.  Miley is the better Popstar but her quality is all over the place.  Taylor on the other hand consistently delivers.  I give her the edge here.

Rock: Miley is the better rock artist, and since Taylor has not really explored this genre, I'll give it to Miley.

What elements of Rock are those songs missing that the Miley ones have..?

Miley is the better singer, obviously her :rip:

I'd say Pop and Rock to Miley definetly,  on Country Taylor's a total master

in what world are better than revenge (pop rock), haunted (symphonic rock), and state of grace (arena rock) considered country songs :deadbanana:

i do love Miley, but Taylor’s general songwriting approaches haven’t been widely acclaimed and studied for no reason :giraffe: she has it down to an art, and it’s 9 times out of 10 highly effective

Miley is obviously far better at this, but Taylor can have country.

pop and country: Taylor

rock: Miley

Miley has some cute pop bops too.

Taylor's pop music is good but she's got the worst singles ever. Blank Space and Wildest Dreams low-key wash Miley's pop career.

Miley is no competition to Taylor at country so Taylor wins easily.

Taylor has never really done rock so Miley wins by default here.

Pop it's a tie for me

Miley owns rock

Taylor owns country

Only one has timeless discography thou and that is not Miley. None of her albums is charting anywhere.

Taylor for all three.
