Why do people still use the album price excuse? Yes, the album box was expensive but BP also had digipacks, jewel cases and cassettes which were way cheaper. Plus all the promo they had.

no matter how you pull it, their billboard numbers were indeed mediocre

Like Hazy said, it's true that the album was bought on retailers outside of the US for many fans because the tour tickets were hundreds of dollars. Many fans took advantage of that rather than shell out $50 at target. Why buy one for $50 when you could buy 2 on Ktown4u? Also no one's buying digital copies please, there's no photocards

maybe because the album box is the standard and common version? I’m personally not interested in jewel cases when it comes to kpop albums and digipacks were in member only versions - I wanted group version (they were also more expensive than the box from Korea ) 

 

also what promo are we taking about? they had 2 singles one month apart, about 3 performances and went on tour

YG spent hella ad space money pushing the 4.99 version too, even calling it the “new discounted album from blackpink”

What does that have to do with Lisa’s skill? whether she’s rapping what she’s told. She’s still skilled at it

 

and any idol can call themselves a rapper and they do, but are they actually good at it or just good at faking it and talking-rapping?

 

Lisa and Jennie actually have skill and execution to their rapping, whereas a lot of said rappers in groups just talk fast. That’s the case of the aespa, RV, TWICE, etc…I don’t think of of them are talented at rapping, it’s just the position they were giving. A lot of them just sound like their talking, no rhythm to their rapping at all

the cassettes were only available in the UK

list me 5 promo spots in the US aside from the VMAs…there was literally no promo for BORN PINK. They immediately started to tour after releasing the album. TWICE already with the little bit of promo for their new EP they had so far is already more than BP had

Exactly. The only thing "cheap" was that last minute digital album i guess for the US fans and they cannot be serious saying Born Pink had good promo, like they literally hurried off to tour asap.
