She had a popular reality show, a collab with her sister (which naturally caused conflict due to her being able to see her often and even live at home) that was coming, her iconic blonde era, iconic lines like babo and tell me boy boy, and unique vocal color and brokered a very lucrative deal that would later be her downfall. The public loved her and her sister.

Also the way Jessica was crying during her last performance. You could tell she was suffering

e.g. olivias new singles didn't do better than 7, but their playlisting/radio/.. is 10x better because she is Geffens main focus

e.g. even dynamite felt a bit bigger because Columbia Records supported the song better (moving to Geffen is still a stupid move)

In general I wish companies would stop doing pre-releases because they basically never work. The k-gp always only pays attention to the first thing the group puts out after being away for a while and then there's less hype for whatever comes after. It only works if it's a huge artist with a lot of hype.

They had Kitsch and I AM this year. And I AM ended up bigger! It can work. 
 

Also we have HYLT/LSG. HYLT got the most hype bc it was the anticipated cb but LSG ended up with the better longevity in SK.
