Considering that’s not a real title… no

 

She doesn’t fit any of the markers that stans set for such a thing. She doesn’t really make pop music, she doesn’t really tour, her album artwork and videography is largely low budget (not a drag), and she doesn’t have any sort of major commercial backing — she succeeds off of her talent and quality alone. 
 

She has no need to be an MPG because she’s big enough of an artist on her own merit!

Not at all. She's far below the criteria set by sole MPG Taylor Swift. 

She is ALONE in her own lane. She is SUCCESSFUL in a total different way, cant be compared to the other girls. The other girls wish to be as successful as her if they do lowkey/indie-like/alternative music with the minimal promotion, just like how Lana cant be successful in terms of having huge pop following like Taylor or Ariana. They just cant be compared.

 

It's like they all have different paths to legend status.

 

It's interesting how she is perched in the top 5/top 10 most streamed females for like ages. The rest of the top 5/10 are all pop girls...

This very list is what inspired us to make this thread. Lol

In 2022, why not? She’s more successful commercially than most so-called MPGs these days and gets pretty good critical reception overall. And she’s very relevant to Gen Z and the social media generation.

She's an MAPG (main alt pop girl)  with the likes of Kate Bush, Björk, Florence, Lorde, etc. All super successful and influential, but don't really churn out instant, massive chart hits like Taylor, Dua, Ariana, Rihanna.

And she has albums that are more successful than some MPGs' albums? So whats that then

 

Born to Die the album is even bigger than most albums by MPGs. I guess having HIT albums make you a legend instead of MPGs. She clearly skips that MPG phase and went straight to legend status.

 

Can you list anyone who isnt a MPG and has an album as big as Born to Die? Prolly none.

If you're going by chart metric, she has other few Top 20 hits including Snow On the Beach, Don't Call Me Angel, West Coast. These are all by definitions a hit even for a short while. 

 

If you're going by impact-wise, she doesn't need to have a chart-topping hit to do that. Her songs have continuously gone viral on social media. Stargirl Interlude, Queen of Disaster, Brooklyn Baby, etc. 

 

So, 1 hit is false no matter which way you look at it.

No offense to Ms. Tay but are any of her album artworks “high budget”? Self titled, speak now, reputa, lover, and midnights SCREAM graphic design is my passion in a way that almost rivals Selena Gomez’s infamously bad Rare cover. Fearless, Red, and 1989 just look like random unprofessionally taken photos edited by any random girl for Instagram, and folklore/evermore are downright offensively underwhelming (and I say this as a stan). LDR’s NFR! artwork alone slays Taylor’s entire discography. Not a drag, but since you brought up that metric, I figured it’s relevant
