It’s obvious she’s a legend. In a decade almost everyone will regard her as such, if not sooner. 

She is the entertainment industry, slaying both music and movies. Who else at the moment?

 

Some girls slay the music industry (Taylor, Dua, Harry, etc.) But they cant enter the film industry.

 

With music, Gaga has done and achieved everything. Been there done that. She was for a good few years the BIGGEST STAR ON EARTH. 

 

Now she is so successful as a MOVIE STAR! Mind you Gaga is the last one from the music industry who could cross over to the Movie industry and now starring along with Joaquin Phoenix in one of the biggest upcoming movies.

How many times do you guys have to create threads like this one? Lady Gaga is a huge pop icon on her way to become one of the greatest artists of our generation and yes, she will also be a legend when everything is said and done. That obsession this forum seems to have to bring her down on a weekly basis is pathological.

I would say she is a 2010’s nostalgia act, no shade.

What  This is not the criteria for a legend, and if Gaga becomes one it WILL be based on her musical talent. Her film debut being a musical film just solidifies that. 
 

And not you grouping Taylor’s 16 year and 12 album career with 2 newbies who have been around for half the time with less than 1/3 of the albums she has. They’re not going to have the longevity she does. Taylor will be a legend in music too, but for now with Dua and Harry — who knows and who cares. 
 

OT: yes Gaga, Beyonce, Taylor, and Rihanna are pretty much set to become legends. All they have to do is continue a stable or upward career trajectory for a little bit longer and they’re there. (*Beyonce is pretty much already there if you ask me and Taylor is just 4 years shy of it, 20 years of a career is my personal idea of when it’s safe to call it)

Nope. Not out of realm of possibility but she’s definitely not one yet.

And why cant we talk about movies as a criteria for Gaga? It's part of her legacy and career. A Star is Born, HoG and Joker 2 are a big part of her legens status. She is a legend just like Barbra and Cher.

What would you say about people like Lauryn Hill who got that status off a single album?

Moving on from the circus show, I think she is on the road to it certainly.

I guess I just didn’t want you thinking that people who can’t break into the film industry can’t become legends  nor is that what is solidifying Gaga’s legendary status when I think things like her Sound of Music Oscars performance and Shallow’s Global domination are what will keep her in history books. She’s a generational talent and I see that in her music more than her filmography so far (but you’re right she’s off to an exceptional start in the film industry and I’m sure she will only get better and better)
