Why why why is a certain fanbase so obsessed with putting they're fav on the same level or greater with The Greats & Legendary artists that were here before ole girl was even conceived? 

 

It takes more than records sales and streams to be considered a LEGEND darhlings! ??‍♂️ What about TIMELESS MUSIC that multiple generations love? What about IMPACT? What about INFLUENCE? Or What about ICONIC moments? What about LONGEVITY?

 

Those are some factors which makes one a legend and NO selling out stadiums and convincing your blind sheep, I mean fans to buy multiple copies of the same record don't make you a LEGEND darhling ... it does makes U a smart business person!

 

Put some R.E.S.P.E.C.T on the REAL LEGENDARY artists (Not ATRL legends ?) that paved the way for ALL of our favs.

but right now it is still a bit too early to call taylor a legend, wait until the late 2020s!!!

This is embarrassing. 

 

Taylor Swift's sales and streams might be falsely inflated, but she's at least as popular as any of her peers and all of them have been at the top of the industry for 1-2 DECADES at this point. If the main ATRL girlies aren't legends then there's less than 5 "legends" ever and Michael Jackson is the only pop star in that category.

Since you bought her up sis ??‍♂️ TS music isn’t timeless I mean just stop ? & her music isn’t universally loved not even in the slightest. Her music reaches a certain demo and that’s White Teenage girls and The young White Gays and that’s about it sis.

I will say the only point I want to make in here is yes, legends can’t be duplicated — that’s the point. There is no next Madonna or next MJ or next Beatles. Fact of the matter is, artists who are becoming legendary (Beyonce and Taylor specifically are who I’m referring to) are doing it by paving their own lanes.

If Taylor doesn’t have her highly praised elementary school girl diary lyrics, her basicness and mediocrity would be undoubtedly on Katy level

so let’s not pretend those payola’ed / biased axxlicking critical acclaims and awards can get her a legend status

Timeless music loved by multiple generation -> checked (see her success in pretty much every corner of the world + record of unique listeners in a day, you don't get that with only one demographic + I mean her albums keep charting forever, that's the sign of timeless music if there is one)

Impact -> checked (artists' revenue from stream, discussion about masters put at the forefront, the Ticketmaster situation... she's actually helping to shape the entire music industry + obviously all the emerging artists that start to cite her as an inspiration)

Influence -> checked (remember the increase in voters after she asked people to? Once again real life impact, not pop forums "yass wig, yass gown"-type of impact)

Longevity -> checked (this is quite literally the most striking thing about her)

 

It's very clear how much Taylor is making people fume on ATRL, so am I even surprise to see that people are not even giving her props for everything she's accomplished? No. 

 

I do believe that it won't change as long as she is at the very top commercially. This position leads to her haters being more virulent and her stans to come for every artist they themselves don't like (which in turns triggers the haters and the cycle never ends, and it's not a "but they started it" situation, this is the case for each and any stanwars on this site). I genuinely believe the common opinion regarding her will be vastly different when she slows down, even from her once haters.

 

I don't like all the threads comparing her to the older legends either though. Like... Taylor is making her own lane and that's perfectly fine. 

"Respect your elders" pop stans have to be the most annoying people in the world, I swear to god

Swifties have become the new Monsters. They will invade every thread, making it about their fave.

On twitter, atrl ect people like Taylor, Rihanna are legends. If you step outside, ask random people on the street who is music legend, NOBODY will say Taylor Swift. They will say Evis, MJ, Beatles, Madonna, Rollingstones.. Please touch some grass and fresh air.
