Forbidden Doors and Hotel Valet are  

This feels very refreshing for them but I'm going to need multiple listens to decide if it's better than Swimmer.

Pollen song.... a career highlight. Recency bias is telling me it's better than swimmer LOL ill give it a month before I decide.

Pollen Song is so stunning. Once again a very good record from them! Not a bad song in the batch.

 

I personally feel like Tennis is the most consistent band I listen to. Every album is enjoyable and if you like one, you’ll like them all. I don’t see much of an improvement from Swimmer but that’s not really a bad thing. Kind of on par but I’ve only listened once so we’ll see!

Yeah they don't miss. I don't look to them for radical musical shifts or statements. They have their lane and they really excel at it. This album is great across the board, but so were Yours Conditionally and Swimmer.

This may be giving me Swimmer 2.0 but I really like it. I may like it a touch more... and enjoy the album overall more than Swimmer but that may have higher highs.

 

I keep saying this everywhere, but they really got in their bag when Alaina got that perm and stole Kath Day-Knight's look... their music since Yours Conditional wipes away their earlier work.

I haven't heard the full album yet as I'm waiting for my vinyl to arrive but I really like the singles a lot. I like their newer stuff better than the 60s surf rock/pop sound they were doing on their first few albums.

Hoping for a little fall tour in Europe

I really like Swimmer and I really like this. some amazing highlights on here. it does give Swimmer 2.0 but goes into different places sonically that I love. Pollen Song is wow

Giving this a listen. Never heard of them

Paper kinda sounds like it could be a Tei Shi song

Ok yeah this is their best album 

I think I already prefer Pollen to Swimmer as I feel there are no skips here (unlike Echoes and Tender As a Tomb). I’m gonna need a few more listens but this may be their best album

Tender As a Tomb is not even close to a skip…Echoes yes!!

doing my first listen of this one in my bed because it's too cold outside and i'm not ready for my nightwalk yet but i'm behind on first listens i've been meaning to do lol

 

Forbidden Doors as stunning as ever

stunning album as usual, though I do understand pitchfork's critique that their music can be a little bit too placid sometimes. sometimes the songs go nowhere in particular, but yknow what? they really reliably scratch a particular itch in MY brain, personally, so I enjoy their albums 

 

Pollen Song and Never Been Wrong are instant discography highlights btw

LMAMT and forbidden doors were so fkn good live

the way they never miss  it's crazy... they delivered yet another stunning album. already competing Swimmer for my fave Tennis album title and is one of my AOTYs. so so good.
