Why is 4 more streamed than BTW?

Featured Replies

on Spotify:

4 - 2.17B

BTW - 1.46B

Both were released in 2011, only one had  #1 & 10 hit  and 4 was consider a flop..

Born this way: 4.6B total streams, 1.8M daily streams 4: 3.1B total streams, 715k daily streams

  • The fact that Judas the so called flop single from BTW is outstreaming the whole so called masterpiece Lemonade album is such a kiii 😅😭😭

  • You should've had this energy 3 years ago when the thread was made. Don't start popping your d!ck suckers now.

i have been always suprised about how bad BTW is performing streaming wise cause i was told the era was massive everywhere

I only started streaming the BTW album recently because I always used the copies I purchased. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Though this forum + the Monsters clowned it, 4 has shown immense holding power and many of its songs are now recognized as staples in Beyonces discography, as well as massive hits with the GP.

BTW is exclusively used by the gays + the club kids. Zero lasting impact, though an INCREDIBLE record. :michael:

Quality and no dated music.

whats both album’s daily streams to compare them?

We’re talking about total. Daily streams mean nothing when it hasn’t match the leader or and those daily streams don’t help you chart on any top streaming artist list of the year  :fan:

These kinds of posts need to be ZTP violations at this point. If you say only gays use Gaga it’s fine, but if I said Bey had no impact because only black people listen to her I’d be called racist. Stop acting like “gays” aren’t a significant part of culture.

BTW double its pure sales, so I guess people are still listening to their purchased copies? And lately they seem to stream it more than 4, longevity queen I guess.

now how are the daily streams :celestial4: it's funny how time is the ultimate truth teller

She really got the last laugh with 4. I remember all the names: 4lop, 4Closure, etc. People really thought my mother was over :deadbanana2:

Still not enough to surpass 4 :rip:

What’s most impressive to me is it didn’t produce any top 10 hits and still managed to outstream MPG albums with top 5 hits during that time period. It was also a timeless R&B classic that stood in the middle of a tacky and outdated EDM wave. Despite ATRL constantly trying to make the case that she lacked hits was always transparent throughout the last decade tho. Sis gave us plenty of r&b/rhythmic classics during the first half of the 2010s that ultimately outstreamed the junk pop and radio fodder ATRL deemed superior. Out of touch and out of line to say the least.

It's so remembered it should be easily outstreaming BTW on a day to day basis - how did the girls put it "dated, gimmicky". make it make sense. It's forgotten or not :celestial4:

Total streams mean nothing if the public isn't streaming it and continuing to stream it. Look at Bad Guy, over 2 billion streams and only getting 600,000 daily plays, far less than similar hits from that era :ahh:

You good? BTW was always marketed as an album for the LGBTQ+ community. A central theme of the album is queer liberation and empowerment with explicit reference to the community.

There are zero themes/topics in '4' that suggest it's for Black people exclusively. What kind of false equivalency to justify your racist ass post?! :deadbanana4:

Remembered? They both were released the same YEAR.  Like what’s not clicking :lmao:

The public got 4 to 2B, a number the PUBLIC didn’t get BTW to :ahh:

I know you guys are slow but catch up

Both were released before the streaming era.

When the streaming era took off, Beyonce had some pretty big collab hits that helped her relevancy and overall streams on Spotify while came from an underperformance and a Jazz cover album.

Gaga needed some time to connect to streaming. Now that she is there, here old albums have pretty good daily streaming numbers.

Born This Way - 1.400.640

4 - 674.231

BTW is a really great album so it’s weird that it doesn’t get a lot of streams (supposedly) but so is 4 so :giraffe:
