Remembering Buddy

RIP darling. You only deserve good things and peace in death. You forever left your mark here - that much is true and evidenced in this thread. For that - you will live on through the memories and thoughts of others.

I lost my best friend from high school last year at 24 years of age. She also had chest pain but the doctors gave her wrong diagnosis and she went to a wrong operation that only made it worse for her... she died from bloodcloths in her lungs and that moment changed me so much. Her death has traumatized me that I am still not over that and there wasn't a day that has passed by that I haven't thought of her throughout the day and night, to die so young, so sudden and because doctors of all people were at fault for that situation from being prevented.

I’m so sorry about your friend. I can relate with your trauma. One of my bestest friends passed away a couple years ago from a sudden aneurysm. I was completely devastated. I never even got to see her during the pandemic because we were all in isolation. No one was allowed to visit her body at the hospital either. There was no final goodbye or even a burial. I believe she was cremated. It hurt for a long time not ever having closure.

Hearing about Buddy’s sudden passing reminds me a lot of my friend.

Jesus Christ, this is so sad. I never think about fellow ATRLs passing. I hope his family and friends are okay. I remember him being an interesting member on here. I believe I played some games with him. Rest In Peace. If for some reason there is an afterlife and he can see this. I hope he's happy to see all of our appreciation and thoughts of him.

RIP. Wish the best for his family and friends.

He was one of my favorite members on here when reading posts. He created an account only a few months before me several years ago, so it's crazy to know he's practically been here since I first started engaging on this forum. I've always appreciated his thoughts and posts.

Really sad.

This reminds me that ATRL has been a really special place with some really special people, even if I'm not on it much anymore.

I honestly don’t remember if we ever interacted over the years, but I remember always reading and enjoying his posts. The avatars were also iconic and always made me laugh.

Rest in peace, Buddy. Sending love to his family, and friends, especially anyone here who was close to him. :heart2:

RIP Buddy - it's a very odd feeling to learn a familiar username has passed on at such a young age.  :dancehall:

Is it truly out of bounds to ask for clarity on how/why he died? Seeing that banner every time I log on makes me feel anxious. I don't want it taken down, my brain's just trying to make logic of the situation, I suppose.

Incredibly sad news. @Buddy was an amazing member of the community. Always kind to everyone. Might not have interacted much with him but the little interaction we had was always nice and fun. May you rest in peace hopefully in a place far far away from atrl

I’m so sorry to his family and friends for this loss. I know he meant a lot to many people on here too so my thoughts are with all of you too.

Rest in peace :heart2:

I'm extremely late to this because I just logged on. I have been friends with Buddy for years. He was going to go to my school and move closer to my city in just a few months. He was planning everything and was showing me apartments he'd picked out and how we'd hang out when he got there. A few days ago he stopped responding to my texts and I jokingly said "don't tell me you died." I logged onto ATRL today and really didn't want to believe this was true. I don't even know how to process this and I still can't believe it's happening. We had been in daily contact for the last few months and I feel like he was one of the only people who truly understood me. Rest in peace.

This is heartbreaking

I remember I always felt like asking him how he was able to change his profile pictures constantly but never had the chance to :cries:
