this is devastating news. I remember how fun it was to have him in our liddos team during ATRL Squid Games, we plotted to take down other teams and he was so resourceful and funny.

ย

he seemed like such a nice person, it's so sad that he passed away at such a young age.ย

Oh my goodness. I have never met him, only interacted with him a few times and I am genuinely shocked and saddened. He was someone who really made this site a better place and I will definitely miss his presence.

ย

Rest in peace, Buddy.

Oh, and I strongly disagree with the notion that the circumstances of his death are irrelevant. I would very much like to know what happened, because losing someone at the very young age of 27 is shocking.

I'm extremely late to this because I just logged on. I have been friends with Buddy for years. He was going to go to my school and move closer to my city in just a few months.ย

Omg, was he going for grad school? What was he going to study?

...Nothing on that end is confirmed and those circumstances do not need to be speculated as they are unimportant in grieving this tragic loss.

Im sorry but that is such bs

I'm extremely late to this because I just logged on. I have been friends with Buddy for years. He was going to go to my school and move closer to my city in just a few months. He was planning everything and was showing me apartments he'd picked out and how we'd hang out when he got there. A few days ago he stopped responding to my texts and I jokingly said "don't tell me you died." I logged onto ATRL today and really didn't want to believe this was true. I don't even know how to process this and I still can't believe it's happening. We had been in daily contact for the last few months and I feel like he was one of the only people who truly understood me. Rest in peace.ย

That is eerie and so tragic. Iโ€™m so sorry you guys never got the opportunity to go to the same school and hang out :(โ€ฆ sigh.

I didn't know him very well but we did speak a few times on old ATRL. I joined here back in 2010 and he defended me once, either in a topic where members were being racist to Asians or people not understanding Autism.ย

ย

He was always nice, classy and respectful and I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I wish his family, friends and ATRL-friends solace, peace and strength.ย

@Buddy! @Buddy are these the same people? Which one of these guys had the mac demarco profile pic?

The latter for whom this thread is about.

Because of what exactly?

His family and loved ones were aware of his presence on this site, which is why they asked the mods to share the news with us. Now, this may well be a thread that his family reads through. And whilst the majority of messages will be comforting to them to see how well-liked he was here, I really donโ€™t think they need to be reminded of the circumstances of his passing. This is not the time or the place.

Firstly, I somehow highly doubt that they would be reading this thread.

ย

Secondly, I am not asking for a livestream or simulation, just a few more words of explanation, which apparently is enough to make some people break down in tears. Sorry, but this explanation is just ridiculous and is why I am even continuing arguing about this.

ย

I guess weโ€™re just going to have to agree to disagree, because I think the cultural norm that I am supposedly violating by asking the question is stupid, and itโ€™s not against the rules to be asking this. So I donโ€™t really care.

ย

Either way, rest in peace Buddy. Sorry for trying to find out how you passed.

RIP BUDDY

ย

With the limited interaction that I had with him in the politics section..., he was a good person. He had slowly turned more leftist since the 2020 election... I literally saw him go through that change while I became more centrist...ย

ย

P.S - Does anyone know the exact cause of the death?

Buddy was such a relaxed and non-problematic user, especially considering how long he'd been part of ATRL. I'm hoping for the best for his close and loved ones, and especially hoping he's transcended into somewhere, something more peaceful, pleasant and can forever somehow remember his happiest moments. Rest in peace, Buddy :heart2:
