Daily streams posts are overdone, why?

Featured Replies

The site is becoming infested with them and it stands in the way of actual fun discussions. I think most of us could agree that we don't care to see daily updates on the same artist or albums every single time just because they moved up in streaming numbers in a miniscule matter. What you gonna do with those numbers now? Did you get the promotion? Did you get the car? Did that one man on Grindr finally respond? :deadbanana4:

They're like iTunes threads from some years ago. Basically a source of flamebait.

It's getting really annoying tbh. Those daily threads really serve no purpose aside from bragging about your own fave or shading other artists. There's hardly any decent discussion involved in them

I really wish they would be merged into one giant thread so they people that actually want to discuss streaming numbers can do so peacefully without the flamebait

because Billie Eilish's recent TTH and NMF-topping singles free fell OUT the top 200 global chart after 2 weeks

Nah, it's quite interesting to see Beyonce fighting daily to stay in the Top 10 of most streamed female artist 2/3 months after release of her album.

its only overdone when ppl do it with britneys numbers but when people do it with dua's or taylors numbers everyone is happy to make threads abt it :deadvision:

It's quite interesting to see how you can't post in a single thread without mentioning Beyoncé.

I mean I can't speak for other Dua stans but I've only made a Dua streaming thread once. I see no purpose in doing it ever 3-4 days like some other very notorious fanbase on here :gaycat6:

Why don’t you just ignore those and make more interesting threads then?

#6 is topping TTH now?

It’s not as bad as it used to be.

I swear I used to see 5 threads DAILY about irrelevant Taylor Swift streaming numbers.

xxx got 1M streams yesterday. Why?

But they seem to have stopped being excessive about it.

For everyone's normal standards yes.

For Billie Eilish's, who topped TTH for 10 weeks out of 2021's 52, it isn't

It's the iTunes equivalent of the streaming era.

"XYZ gets so many streams on Spotify" is simply the new "XYZ is #1/top 10/20 etc. on iTunes"

Because 97% of artists these days entire careers are based on streaming stats so their stans have nothing else to discuss. It’s boring tbh.

Yeah, twitter too :deadbanana:

This is worse. Starting threads about artists going viral and it's barely 50k likes/retweets :clown:

I’d say this kind of case is actually thread-worthy.

The most annoying ones are daily artist streams (especially female), random song reaching certain milestones etc

It's not thread worthy when it's literally a new thread daily about the same song or album :skull:

And then you'd get attacked if you suggested a central thread for updates and not a new thread for every daily update on a song/album

But as I said, people seem to have stopped making the threads as much as earlier this year

No, as long as those threads keep getting replies, why would you want them gone? Is your fave flopping?  and by the way you are on ATRL, if there's any place that's gonna discuss the charts/streaming it's this ******* site.

Just as annoying when they compare Confessions on a Dance Floor to almost every other era.
