The fact that the year-end Top 2 could potentially be two 2021 leftovers (Heat Waves is unfortunately clinched and Stay could be #2 if it doesn't leave soon) and we still had several 2021 hits linger for awhile into 2022 (Bad Habits, Good 4 U, Save Your Tears, You Right, Levitating, Fancy Like, etc) says yes.

A lot of singles from 2021 albums did well though (THATS WHAT I WANT, Get Into It (Yuh))

 

But I mean, I blame radio not giving artists like Avril and Demi a new chance because they instead chose to play Tate McRae and newer acts with a similar sound.

The Midnights lead single is coming to save the charts 

About Damn Time and Late Night Talking are the only songs that don't make me wanna tear my ears off. This has been a pretty poor year for mainstream music.

Bam Bam is bigger than half of these songs

The fact that a song like First Class hit #1 is telling of how weak the charts were earlier this year. Easily one of the worst #1 songs in recent memory.

theres more from big hits to moderate hits
