Breakfast - what went wrong?

Featured Replies

The follow-up to her smash single Boyfriend failed to chart on the Hot100 and has only 22m streams 2 months later. What went wrong?

I really hate to have breakfast so much. It makes me hungry the whole day. Much better to jump straight to lunch :coffee2:

I was about to get in defending french toast against the dark pancake cabal because I thought this was a Lounge thread about breakfast nn.

Anyway, the song is bad. Boyfriend was only a semi-hit because everyone thought it was Billie, nobody really cares about Dove as an artist.

Girl I thought we was about to start discussing our morning meals.

I keep fasting until noon :gaycat4:

i listened to the song once and it was more than enough

I was about to argue nothing went wrong since breakfast is only the best meal of the day so

The way I came into this thread expecting this song :deadbanana4:

Boyfriend was a tiktok hit and the same didnt happen with Breakfast

boyfriend was a hit but not a hit big enough to create a name for Dove, and thats it

i love and stream the hell out of these 2 songs tho.

This :rip:

Maybe more of us would enjoy breakfast if we weren't busy in the morning because of work.

Same lol.

To be fair, the song was literally just uploaded to streaming services & abandoned. Dove has been kinda MIA on social media too, she barely acknowledged the song when it came out. They’re finally dropping a music video for it ‘soon’, but I don’t really see the point, it’s too late.

It’s a shame things didn’t continue to work out for Dove. I was so excited when I thought she was finally going to be a big artist. But they just didn’t release any other music around Boyfriend & deleted all of her previous songs. The GP lost interest & no one cares. It seems like her album’s been shelved too, which is really disappointing.

It might gain some traction. The MV has a political message that's bound to generate some reactions.

I personally didn't even know the song was out already. I remember hearing it on tik tok but never thought it was a Dove Cameron song. She needs a better marketing team/strategy. Time to hit up Scooter and his team.
