Can relate to her. Sometimes styling my hair takes me ages which causes me to be late at work so I would shave it from time to time to make my life easier (and save some of my shampoo). Thank goodness I can pull the buzz cut look coz my head is round. 

She’ll still on that self hate kick. Super insecure about her hair. Her reasoning was weak. It’s one thing if she said she wanted to shed baggage or something like that. 

she seems like she’s been going through it lately. I hope she’s ok.

i hope she's okay. i feel like mentally shes just extremely exhausted. i hope she genuinely took her time off this year so she can come back full steam next year. 

In our days where wigs are a huge thing I don't find it too shocking.. However 

 

That's horrible to say but she's going to lose it someday soon. 

Hopefully I'm wrong but she's showing the signs..

That's such an insensitive comment. If a woman feels more comfortable without hair, you have to understand and respect that. Her body, her choice.

 

OT: She still looks good and I think I have seen her wearing wigs before so she will probably continue to do so from time to time.

What she said made a lot of sense like if she never wears her hair out what’s the point of having it. She’ll be wearing wigs 99% of the time anyway and this will just make that easier. 

 

Not sure how that reads as insecure or mentally unstable but yk ATRL loves to see things that don’t exist.

I'm surprised in 2022 there isnt any plastic surgery to change hair texture/follicles (for those who wish to).

 

Unfortunately, the beauty standard is definitely straight/loose/sleek hair and because afro hair is the opposite of this, a lot of people with afro hair struggle with loving their hair 

 

I know it would be easy to say but that's conforming to eurocentric standards, but really every other race has different hair and every other race is rude about black hair

 

One of my close friends hasn't left her house in 18 months because she feels bad about her hair and it breaks my heart that society could make someone feel that way 

 

Nevertheless, Doja looks beautiful here and I hope she can be happy with herself one day
