what settings do you make them on?

my smoothness is always on 23, gif size is 188x188 or 190x190 (depending on the video) and the quality is 100

quality 100

size varies a lot depending on the video, usually around 180x180

smoothness 24 -> then i use ezgif to change the speed to 5 hundredths of second between frames!

Random question, but which app/online page do you guys use to download and cut the videos?

I used to use a couple bu they don't work with YouTube videos anymore

I meant one avi for 0:25 to 0:55

and another for 2:20 to 2:41

Both are still too big, sorry about that. Some videos just make very large gifs.

Regular gifs aren't usually a problem when it comes to length (as long as they're not excessively long) as they're hosted off-site, don't worry. It's just avis that we have to keep under the size limit!
