Last year RV fans were fuming that SM only promoted Queendom for 10 days (despite great sales and charts and after a long hiatus), gave them no other promo and refused to restock their old albums. 

 

So fans mass emailed SM Store asking them to restock RV's old albums but the store replied saying "buy aespa instead". 

 

Of course the situation has now changed. FMR became a half-million seller album and since that happened, SM has started restocking RV albums. Some of their old albums have now been certified platinum on Gaon as a result of the restock.

with regards to BTS's first day, I think what happened is that because it's not an English-language single, their fans stopped pushing so hard

it's actually a personal theory I have about Kpop artists releasing English-language music lol. when Kpop artists release music in English, they receive outsized returns on digital services because their fans interpret it as their push for a North American and European hit (9/10 times it usually is a push for such a hit). I'll use Twice's singles' debut positions on the weekly Global Spotify chart as examples:

 

Alcohol-Free: #80 with 7 994 476 streams

The Feels: #57 with 9 255 118 streams

Scientist: #195 with 5 630 331 streams

 

unfortunately the problem with my theory is that my sample size is very small  but to me it makes sense. Butter, Dynamite, and Permission to Dance were BTS's big attempts at scooping Grammys, VMA's, EMA's, etc. by switching into English—the predominant language on global streaming charts—and releasing what could basically be boiled down to American radio bait.

 

the fact that they're seeing half the returns they saw with Butter in the first 24 hours either tells me the fanbase is demoralised or they're just not pushing as hard because it's not an English-language single to promote internationally for awards and charts

 

which is funny because said fanbase acts very pick-me about how "everyone else listens to noise" and how their faves make "meaningful music" but as soon as they release a song that isn't a daytime news anthem…

Girl what? Most of 4th Gen BGs have tragic performance on Gaon Digital Chart 

 

I remember like only The Boyz have 2 Top 20 digital hit and Stray Kids have 2 Top 40 digital hit all without hitting top 20. Okay Gaon Digital Chart may not be best thing to brought up, but it's obvious that Korean GP barely cares about 4th Gen BGs despite having global hits.
