While baby #2 is on the way, we can say goodbye to new music this year and dare I say nothing will happen in 2024, too

Winners: Rihanna, ASAP Rocky

Losers: Haters, Navy

  • this is a random rant but I'm proud of (the majority) of us. Some of these girls on here are so fickle they've abandoned their original favs that are still active and bandwagoned anyone else with subs

  • Stanning this woman feels like punishment at this point

guys her video makes me sooooooooo emotional omg    we have grown old together as a fanbase. we were just teenagers & most of us are adults in their late 20'/30's now.

If she also let the world know right away that the 2nd baby is coming then nobody would give a ****. The world would easily understand the concept of "putting family first" and if she was meant to do the show next year or later then after the initial disappointment everyone would get over it. Pressed b*ttoms on ATRL do not represent anything

No one has ever canceled a SB halftime show though, once you announce and it's out there, it's basically a done deal. And while this is not the outcome I imagined or expected, I'm glad she didn't let the pregnancy stop her from doing it. She made a statement and it likely won't ever be replicated.

I’ll never count out the possibility of new music. She’s always been into the idea of defying expectations so this year isn’t over until it is

Sis/sir/etc. I’m trying to be positive :rip:

Yall we need to stop making comeback plans for her at this point guys. I’ve been saying since she gave birth that she would get pregnant again soon. She always said she wanted a big family and the woman is nearly 35. She will get pregnant again at least once more after she gives birth to baby #2. And possibly again after. She’s in a completely different chapter in her life and we have to accept that. Like talking about a tour this year or next year is just unrealistic. Or expecting new music when she made it clear the other day that she doesn’t have any material ready. Let’s just be happy that she came back for us last night and put on a good show and a proper Rihanna show at that (even though I get people here expected more) and stop with the expectations. I’ll tell you now that the road ahead of us is full of all things Fenty related, she literally put it in all of our faces mid show lmao. If we want to try to read between the lines and be hyped about non existing clues in the years ahead ofc we can. But it’s just not realistic. Yall will say I’m being negative and stuff again but I’m honestly content with everything and extremely happy for her, especially after last night. My girl deserves the life she desires :heart2:

I feel like Rih is one of the few people that could cancel this gig without major issues, especially with Jay Z's involvement.

A better, more energetic performance where she's not restrained >>> a statement on pregnancy while she's moving her ankle a litlle.

If she has done it now and now when she had a tour and album ready to go, it's telling how she gave up on her music career and achievements. No one would have wasted a Halftime show like this.

She's a legacy act. Time to accept it

This forum has such a tunnel vision on what a halftime show should be but shes literally redefining it right in our eyes so im expecting a lot of growing pains with that.

:clap3:

I was thinking about this last night - it's SO clean and visually stimulating.

Everyone is a critic. It's only the next day, people are just reacting impulsively.

This was probably announced before she found out she was pregnant, but expecting mothers usually wait until after the first trimester to make it public, so I'm assuming she's 4-5 months.

Bookmark me, this last performance will be HISTORIH.  She did a nod to Kanye, Jayz and Leon T.  The set up, themusic choices and performance was a nod to those that got her to where she was as an artist; the stage and style were Kanye, the fashion was Talley.  This was our goodbye, Navy and she has come fuin circle.  It was a bittersweet performance once you take it all in and I will forever stan Rihanna. .   If you think about her set, she put in her favorites and the nod to her foundation then explained to the Navy why she is leaving in the song Diamonds.  Well done, Righ. . .well done.

I had to watch it again to see where all the hate was coming from. I mean I guess there could have been a little more - the most obvious and unforgivable cutting of corners is no umbrella props during Umbrella, like hello, get the girl an umbrella ffs - and some of her dancing was a little awkward, but I still thought it was a solid performance for her! Definitely a 7/10, 8/10 if we give her a break for being pregnant.

This. .. until the Navy can accept Rih chooses what makes her happy, they will be disappointed. I am happy because she is chosing what brings her joy.  Life is too short..  She always said, family first.

You know, upon revisiting she wasn’t that bad :bird:

We kind of won in the end! She finally did it!

THIS. . .all THIS

That stage set up with the A symmetrical floating stages was absolutely breathtaking!! I do think she could have used a couple of points throughout the performance to use props (umbrella, maybe some digital visuals from the staging floor) but it was clear they wanted to go with a clean and sleek production. Other than that....I thought the show was great and very entertaining! In terms of the setlist....I'm always here for her urban cuts so I loved the setlist....I do wish she would have left off Wild Thoughts and included PDSTM instead.

Ok Navy I need to know where we stand now. With Fenty Baby #2 on the way, what are we thinking?

Can we say nothing’s happening in 2023 regarding tour/new muic? Do we still have hope, somehow? Annoucements this year but actual rollouts next year?

Tagging @istan4badgalriri and @GoodGuyGoneGhetto because they always have interesting takes and i trust them.

I’m not expecting anything until 2025. If she does anything sooner I’d be appreciative. I would love little droplets here and there though. Like do a DJ collab like another Calvin Harris or DJ Khaled moment to keep us at bay while she’s being a mother. My biggest wish is for her to return next year at Coachella Or Glastonbury but that could just be a pipe dream at this point. Her main love is no longer music but her empire and that’s fine. We can’t expect her to keep the same interests forever and people’s passions change over time.

What was she supposed to do... abort the baby ? :deadbanana:

Call me delusional but I still think we'll get new music in the coming months.....just not an album. I don't think her plan is to go back into obscurity for the rest of 2023.

okay... 10M views for the show on youtube already...

I just wish she would at least give us droplets. Like collabs with Calvin Harris or David Guetta for example.
