VMAs was **** compared to SuperBowl

I'm with you but I guess to each their own lol....the pop set in the VMA performance was one of her worst televised performances in my opinion. Songs were mixed poorly, choreograph/vocals were not good and production wise, there was nothing there

  • this is a random rant but I'm proud of (the majority) of us. Some of these girls on here are so fickle they've abandoned their original favs that are still active and bandwagoned anyone else with subs

guys her video makes me sooooooooo emotional omg    we have grown old together as a fanbase. we were just teenagers & most of us are adults in their late 20'/30's now.

Yeah, VMAs, RIR, MIA, Global Citizen all a thousand times better vocally, while being 100% live

I guess the uncertain setlist (redoing it so many times) is partially to blame for the lack of well recorded vocals, but still...

But the production value here was insane, the camera work alone is insane. Idk if shows like get nominated for the technical stuff at the Emmys but this absolutely deserves it, it was like a movie at some points.

ATRL is often times an alternate universe lol

I think after this and Lift me Up, I'm definitely considering deleting my account

The amount of hatefulness and bitterness, not even objective critique, was kind of overwhelming. This site and stan culture in general are incredibly toxic

Didn't Katy release an album right before she gives birth and called it a day?

I wonder if the material she has recorded all these years is really so bad so she can't even put out 1-2 of these songs just for the Navy!

Yeah I felt the same yesterday but then I remembered to log off and talk to real people lol....again everyone I watched with enjoyed the performance and I've only come across people saying positive things about her performance online

I agree with this, if you take the pop set alone it’s a no. But if you take the 4 performances together, especially the fantastic dancehall one, those gave a great representation of who Rihanna is as popstar, which was the main thing I personally wanted from the SB

VMA 2016 were definitely better because that time she highlighted how much diverse her catalog and style are. I repeat it once again: the set and the outfit being the same along the whole thing is what really hurt the show imo

VMA had more variety, coz she had more time to do different cuts and different catalog sections.

But c'mon...

Let's be real... SB was 1.000.000x times better.

It felt underwhelming coz she wasn't dancing as much as we wanted coz she is pregnant? Ok. I'll give you that.

But all of the rest....

She may have not performed some of (Y)OUR FAVES.... But as always... she has done what she wanted and that is something no one can deny her.

Including Pose in the setlist was a... Choice. But that was not even the biggest problem.

As some of us here already mentioned, there was no climax, no "wow" moment. It was way too simplistic, most of the time nothing was happening.

I wanna see how u r gonna lift your leg if you are 5 months pregnant

P.s. im just keeping it real

This doesn't change the fact that the VMAs were the better show.

Can we talk about how INSANE that Rude Boy skit was??

Definitely wasn't expecting Rude Boy mixed with We Found Love... and it felt AMAZINGGGGG

The more I watch the performance the more I start to like it .

The minimalistic approach is what makes it crisp, cool & different from what we expect from pop girls.

Idk it was too messy for me overall....I loved the dancehall set but her vocals were very sketch. And you just reminded about her urban set and the tragic needed me vocals lol. I love Rih but there's a reason I never go back to revisit the VMA performance.

Rude Boy was the highlight imo and maybe AOTL when she showed a little bit more energy.

It was enjoyable and not the terrible mess other Stan’s are making it out to be

but she could’ve and should’ve done better. + it was a wasted opportunity.

See when you’re a CLASSIC

Let’s reiterate that Rih said “if it flops or flies, her name stands by it”… I’m moving on despite my qualms with her halftime :heart2:

Work was also a highlight imo. The playing with the dancers was fun

But can you imagine the stress she was experiencing practising for show. She knew that she was limited due to her pregnancy, that the expectations were sky high and she couldn't deliver her 100%.

You could tell that she was relieved that the show was over. Relatable queen.

the fact that we wouldn't even see the first baby if it wasn't for the paps, we don't even know his name, and she's already on baby #2 :dies:  let's see if she reveals anyhing in that vogue spread

Can you imagine the meltdowns if she canceled due to the pregnancy. The absolute bloodbath! :dies:

A video was circulating of her backstage after the performance.

She was so happy.

hello ladies

the chatter in here.

okay so she is roughly 3-4 months pregnant (no more than 4 months, i guarantee you that) i've worked with pregnant women for 3 years, her bump is not more than the 4. that means she must of gotten pregnant oct-nov 2022, which is well after the Super Bowl was announced so she was already committed. i'm sure there was a contract signed (and a potential penalty if she broke it).

anyways. i think she was originally gearing up to release music and tour (hence the tour rumours, etc.), but that was pulled when she was pregnant. she wasn't going to start cancelling shows because that would have created a fuss and people would already start speculating why. so she let it be and let the baby bump cancel it for everyone. plus, the behind the scenes of the apple music stuff, we never got because she started rehearsing i believe dec 2022 so she would of already started showing.

as for the super bowl, you can tell that this was never the show she intended to do. as in, i'm sure she had more dancing planned and probably a costume change at some point, but wasn't able to do it because she's pregnant.

i wish she had pushed the performance to another year (if she could), but it's done now girls and now we can anticipate the launch of her new fenty brand, fenty kids with formula and pampers.

see you again in a year and a half ladies.
