Yeah I think so. I think all the lyrics so far are from the same song… new single.

Today's shirt: "looking for an issue"   Ok, there's no way they're all from the same song at this point. They have to each be for a different song on OR3?   All so far:

  • a lyric from each track...   six more shows so six more lyrics for a fifteen track album    I knew there was a reason I stayed in school

Rock is a super versatile genre, she can easily diversify her sound while staying in the rock lane and not diluting her brand. There are subgenres in rock that are more commercial and could do well on the charts, see songs like Dreams by the Cranberries, Friday I'm in Love by the Cure or Torn by Natalie Imbruglia. Soft rock subgenres like jangle pop, britpop, shoegaze etc would really fit Olivia.

I think she does need to expand her sound and try to reach a wider audience in the next era. It's great that she built a strong YA fanbase that will be loyal for many years to come, but as a pop star it's also important to make your sound more palatable to other generations. Her Fontaines DC cover was an interesting sign pointing towards that

Hoping for a good surprise guest at the Glastonbury show today. (ie not Noah Kahan - who's also there today)

who else is watching the Glastonbury live stream :jonny4:

I'm watching it on TikTok and none of them know who Robert Smith is :gaycat6: they all thought Harry Styles was going to show up!

For those who aren't watching, they performed Friday I'm in Love and Just Like Heaven!

i stopped watching like 30 minutes ago because it kept lagging

I watched! So good! And that was a perfect special guest. She's such a huge fan and they sounded great together.

No new song or announcement.

New shirt: You know all the words to Just Like Heaven

So we got nothing...

She was good but I swear does Glastonbury have it in artists contracts to not perform anything new... it's such a big event, feels like such a waste of a teaser. Even Dua did absolutely nothing last year.

The shirt also said "…OR do you?"

People are predicting that Just Like Heaven might be a song title since people know The Cure's song but not Olivia's (yet).

She did great.  She obviously wasn't going to do anything new, not sure why so much clownery.

watched it on tv, thought she was great. felt like quite a rock heavy set, very riffy, none of the guts ballads

enjoyed watching bob smith go thru the cure tunes but got the slight feeling that he was a bit lost on olivia's crowd, they didn't seem to know what to make of him lol

Yeah I saw that but I don't think so. "You know all the words to Just Like Heaven" sounds like a lyric from the same song as all the other ones. And the "or do you" wasn't printed on the shirt like the rest. It looks like it was just sloppily drawn on with a sharpie or something. Like maybe a joke with her boyfriend since she put that lyric in a song. But then realized he actually doesn't. Just my guess.

I definitely don't see her saying the livvies know all the words to that song. lol

it's baffling to me that she cut lacy from the setlist when it's currently the 2nd most-streamed song from GUTS daily... i'm not sure how her mind works sometimes. people want to hear lacy and she knows they do, yet it's not on the setlist.

i feel like the show was very finely balanced between wanting to get a lot of sour in and wanting to have as many crowd pleasing bangers for a broad festival audience? but i agree that it was missed, esp when the sour ballads are so repeatedly going over all the same ground it's a wasted chance to mix them up with the best of the more recent slow songs

I consider pretty isn't pretty a ballad from GUTS :keir:

it is and it isn't i think, it's soft but still a bit of a rocker, it's not in that drivers license mould (definitely her most cure influenced song tho i think, she had to play that one)

Okayyyyy so lyric shirts are done. Single has to be coming soon. Maybe this week? Good time to announce it. Take advantage of the media coverage Glastonbury gave her.

eta: I was kinda right about the "or do you?" It's not part of the lyric/clue. Robert  Smith wrote it on her shirt.
