Saw her perform live! Amazing as expected and so surreal after so long. I hope she keeps going after it.

Afram was during the time I was working. Just saw her performance on Youtube. She did good and that mic was on. I hope we get more performances this summer. I wonder what she got planned with Coi Leray and Kehlani. They made those posts on IG talking about this summer will be lit

So happy to see her on the stage. She's so confident and rocking it. Loved her vocals too!!

It would've been nice to see a new song be performed lols

I still don't understand why not put on a headset …people still can tell she's lip syncing. And about new music…. it might be sooner cause she's DEFINITELY independent …it might not get a big budget since it's gonna be out her pocket. Ally Brook is able to drop songs and so is Lauren.

I still don't think she's independent for some reason. I would've thought that she would've announce her leaving by now. I have a feeling she's with TDE and is just keeping it under wraps.

I'm still keeping tabs on Miss Normani but I haven't hit submit on my renewal Nation membership form just yet.

The performances help though.

Under wraps for what? lol…this isn't like Beyoncé going to a new label lol. Every artist that has left or changed labels..every time they sign with someone new it's immediately announced or discovered

Well i'm not inclined to believe that if she was independent that her and Lydia wouldn't have acknowledged that.

To me a split definitely occurred between her and her label but I just think we would've heard by now if she was independent. Like didn't she do a whole women's empowerment conference? Wouldn't she have added that she's an independent artist and her struggles with keeping up with her schedule? You even mentioned before that there is some kind of clause that would prohibit her from releasing but not from speaking openly about it.

I just have a feeling that she moved label or maybe is in the process and doesn't want to speak about it before it's finalized.

There were rumors of her releasing a collab this summer and releasing an album in the fall.

I also posted a while back from a semi reliable rumor account that she was working with Rodney Jerkins, Pharrell, and Anderson Paak.

They also mention more pop leaning which is another reason why I think she's still signed to a label. If she was indie I think she would lean heavier into R&B.

If she's recording music then everything would be signed and it would be a done deal. Because the label would be paying for studio time. When she signed to a label in the first place she announced it etc. So the fact that she's recording music means that she is independent and it's coming out of her pocket.

That's so weird they did all that teasing and promo but nothing surfaced. If it doesn't come early July, it's basically not coming at all imo.

She's really working. At least the Dopamine era will have a handful of legit performances. Shame we don't have new music at the moment though.

At ESSENCE festival in New Orleans today:

Normani confirmed again for the Aaliyah tribute tomorrow curated by Missy Elliot for Essence Festival.

Normani and Ryan sounded DRAINED so it seems like there was a lot of rehearsals for it. Missy doing her big one (she doesn't play about Aaliyah at all) and personally picked Normani + Ryan and the rest.
