Well I hope they're not waiting for the day no one's releasing because I thought we left that theory behind. The coast is never clear or not if we truly being honest new music comes out every friday

My thoughts exactly. Enough with waiting/postponing to avoid competition. There’s always something coming out every Friday (Cardi, The Weeknd, Bieber, Billie, Harry Styles, etc are all rumored to drop in March so there is never gonna be a right time).

 

it’s unlikely Normani is gonna smash out of the gate anyways…she’s more of a longevity girl.

Miley dropping an old track and would have never been competition for her. Ariana I can understand avoiding because of a certain album bomb. Though at the same time, I do not know how the public will react to her album since she's been getting a bed rep lately. Waiting til 3/15 would be odd because why announce the album cover so early? Tyla is still too green. There's no telling of where her career is going to head and she's in her own lane. Nothing she does would affect Mani. Bey is releasing a yeehaw album and is removing herself from the pop scene. She was never going to be competition with her.

 

They could release any of those dates. They just need to work the song/album like a normal artist at her stage should. That's it. That's all.

Also, the insider who posted about Chloe before she announced said her team has two dates in mind for the album and both dates are in Q2. I hope they go with a birthday release. A May release would be perfect imo.

I'm trying not to complain much but waiting till mid March to release a lead single for an already announced album just seems odd. Wish we got it this week. I do trust them to do their thing tho. Announcing the album was already clever enough

I hope whenever she releases a single they drop the video at the same time. She really shines in videos/with choreo + increases chances of going viral.

I think they might be trying to have the snippet grow a little on tiktok before releasing the song but this method would have worked a lot better if she had a released an uptempo. People would have probably created a dance challenge. 

 

Or maybe they didn't know if the demand would be there for Normani. I mean it has been years so maybe that's why everything is spaced out.

To me it doesn’t make sense for them to wait for a snippet to grow on Tiktok. Especially one as chill as that. There is no strong rhythmic feel to it similar to what usually goes viral on Tiktok. I’m hoping @WheresJayis right and they do either a simulrelease or they release an uptempo right after this one. Normani and crew need to be more strategic. It’s not 2019 when we were in desperate need of dance artists. Like I mentioned before her audience likes pop and R&B; she’s a strong performer. 1+1=2. It’s not that hard but I’ll have faith and trust they know what they are doing.

It made the most sense to drop the single the same time as the album announcement. They really shouldn’t be waiting for a perfect time, artists are just putting the music out whenever they want and letting it do what it does these days. So I’m personally a little puzzled this.

Yeah it got way less traction than wild side one's but I mainly because it's because it's not what the people wanted for Normani after an album announcement. I actually think the smartest thing to do would have been to release the song the Friday right after the announcement but idk Imma trust her team I guess

Well when we say what people wanted from her(not pure pop, but an uptempo smash) as a comeback song, you guys were the ones who called us dramatic and stuff.

I personally don’t mind the song but I’m trying to figure out if they maybe wanted to announce the album so that people could regain interest in the her brand and then released the snippet as a way to gauge the audiences reactions to it. Same thing that they did in the instagram live. I think Lydia is trying to figure which singles they are going to be released or which order they will be released. I’m thinking 15th will be when she releases. Then April will be when the more uptempo song release and maybe Album release? To me it wouldn’t make sense in my opinion to wait longer than that. We finally get some traction why squander it on trying bank everything on everyone else’s schedule.

I see what you’re saying, and I initially felt the same way as you. The snippet didn’t garner the same traction as Wild Side, but if it is the lead, hopefully, it resonates with the general public. Many of us here are Stan’s, we’re just a loud minority. It really boils down to how the gp will react to the song. I’m hoping that she and her team have something up their sleeve because many of us want to see her do well.
