Well it’s been a pretty underwhelming rollout so far minus the Vogue cover…it’s very unlike her previous album rollouts. Her visuals this era have also been underwhelming - from Red Ruby to LTISY. 

 

I can only hope the music is actually good and she doesn’t retract her promise to drop tour dates tomorrow 

I agree that the rollout is quite confusing but listening to an album not knowing most of the songs is actually quite exciting. Especially after 5 years. That's why I didn't want SFG, Red Ruby, etc. on the album either.

 

I really want to know what is happening BTS. I think someone already said that but it seems that Nicki doesn't really have a team or supportive system behind her. It really feels like she's on her own. Maybe she will open up more on the album like she usually does.

yeah it's insane to me that the last real single that we have got is super freaky girl which dropped more than a year ago.. I love red ruby but it was basically an "accidental" single cause the song did better than expected (didn't have a video ready and gave us that horrible backyard video). And then LTISY was a cute song that did not have single potential and was completely forgotten (by her and the fans) after the first week. I need a real MOMENT from her, give me an actual taste of PF2, a real single with a music video that screams pink friday... but maybe we'll have to wait for the album release cause it seems like she wants to keep all the good stuff for the album

If we're keeping it real for a minute, we already knew what was coming when she decided to call the album Pink Friday 2, and with an underwhelming rollout it was always going to be a setup. Pink Friday (and RR to some extent) is what solidified Nicki Minaj as a mogul. The amount of brand deals, fashion shows, award shows, performances, music videos, etc. she had her hands in numerous streams of revenue and you could tell because she was everywhere. She was hungry.

 

The fact that we're missing the same magic this time around while trying to nostalgia bait what is inarguably her most iconic era as Nicki Minaj really does draw in those unfavourable comparisons and expectations that some of us unfortunately can't let go of. She doesn't have anything left to prove, but we still want her to because this is still a part of her legacy.

 

The Vogue cover was a step in the right direction. If she doesn't want to give us the music than she can give the barbz crumbs in other areas like the documentary or queen radio, so we can stop focusing on the music that clearly isn't ready for us yet. The tour dates will hold the barbz over for the next few weeks but I'm not sure if she can afford another delay. 

 

I hate to whine and moan about what could be done better, because we could really be here all day, but I think it's time to stop trying to micromanage her moves and just take what we can get atp!
