ARTPOP's teasing was way worse. She gave us the name, many teases, song titles and "soons" just like she did this time. 

 

Then she got hurt and unofficially ARTPOP got delayed months.

 

Yall wouldn't survive that and it's sad. In fact, so many fans were literally not this negative. 

 

Maybe it's bc she isn't giving us content everyday on social media anymore… but like as someone else said - thats over. Fans burnt her trust with that and it's never coming back.

Yes, Interscope/UMG copystriked it multiple times off of twitter. That's a serious move on their part.

Girl Artpop was released 2 years after BTW. We are approaching year 5 since Chromatica's release they are not comparable at all

I think many members who are active in this thread were around during those days, whether that be on ATRL or just as a fan in whatever form. I agree the wait for ARTPOP was horrendous, and that wait came at a time she was solely focusing on her pop music so we didn't have side projects of particular interest. But in the good nature of separating her pop fans from her "everything" fans (since some might not have seen her movies or listened to her jazz music if they're not interested) it's worth noting we waited 2 years and 6 months between Born This Way and ARTPOP. It's now been 4 years and 5 months since Chromatica came out. That's nearly double the waiting time. And even for the fans who've checked out her side projects, a lot of us aren't interested in her other work outside pop music. Also back in those days she was still at least a bit active on socials, like Twitter as an example. Nowadays her twitter is just a promotional platform and she's taking monthly breaks from her Instagram. It's okay for fans to be a little frustrated at the wait.

Anyway what are yall's current snippet ranking?? Mine in order:

 

Amazing:

- Mustang — Just uggghhshdkdjd. The sound effects? The low saw bass? Exquisite

 

- Notorious Being — Sexy new sound! Hoping the whole album sounds like this. Grimey, grunge, industrial… just yes.

 

Great:

- Girlfriend/Garden of Eden — Biggg bop with a hot contrast between dark and shimmery, very Born This Way coded. The lyrics make no sense tho

 

Good:

- Dance in the Shadows — Doesn't really say anything, love the glitch at the end, cute lyrics + melody, has potential

 

- Abracadabra — Catchy but also doesn't say anything plus gives CHARTDROP noise reject… 

 

Trash I hope is fake:

- Neon Lights — Cringe ABBA reject. Weird ass lyrics. Cringe theatre kid vibes

Overall, project is shaping up to be muuchhh better than anything she's dropped in the last decade (tho I like Chromatica)

I'm not talking about the wait times tho. So many are like "I wish she didn't tease bc the wait sucks" no actually the teases since May have been relatively good/clever. 

 

Ending the Chromatica Ball w the snippet was a GAG, the Paris snippets were a moment, and the Vogue Interview/Typewriter post was cute. All over what, 6 months?

 

Yeah it took a while to start but her teases have been actually not that spaced apart or worthless
