She needs a director like Ti West or that type that understands female characters. I think Todd and Ridley missed the mark.

That very clearly wasn't the goal of taking Harley Quinn in the direction in this film that they did and the people complaining either didn't see the film yet or misunderstood it for what its intention was. There was intentionality and risk in the direction they took the character and it paid off and made this story have some actual layering that the first film lacked. Lee's actions and motivations lined up and served the story meaningfully idk what people are saying when they call her a husk of a character.

Okay, but the consensus is that the movie overall didn't work, and many are saying Gaga was underutilized.

May be we're getting a hit film that breaks formulae :fan:

So you admit you didn't see the movie and are basing all of your attempts at critiquing it on twitter reactions... tells me enough and is telling of this base ijbol

Yes, I am basing the overall critical reception of a film on the overall critical reception of a film.

Your username is 'Grace Randolph' and all of the points your making are talking points that she put into her review idk how you're supposed to expect me to engage in a serious conversation about a film that you haven't even seen. Claiming that direction and writing of a character "doesn't work" on a fundamental level because she is a female character doesn't make sense, especially when you yourself haven't seen the film.

Happy Mistake is playing now at my gym and I'm not the one playing it. :toofunny2:

Something I've observed from each movie she's been in so far is that critics and Hollywood alike always look to her as the main selling point of the films.  She is usually responsible for driving up excitement around her movies whereas the rest of the cast just doesn't have that ability, and it's sort of unfair to her.
