Not a decrease playlist reach on the movie opening day

Maybe that news on those last pages that

she's going to get drop by Interscope is plausible after all

I honestly think the song being on TTH could hurt it more than help it lol. People that listen to that playlist are looking for a very specific kind of song, and HMH doesn't fit that bill. The people that are going to stream it are not going to be the same people listening to TTH.

I kind of understand their strategy to go harder on radio and sales than streaming tbh. The streams will come naturally if the song ends up becoming a hit. And the biggest promotional tool of all - the movie - doesn't require artificial playlisting.

On that note, Interscope has always had a very specific and peculiar style of managing their artists. They give lots of artistic and creative freedom, and they are very selective in how much/how long they support singles and albums. If they don't see any future growth potential for a song or album, or if a single flops, they pretty much end the promotional cycle and refuse to push additional singles (even with albums that have so much commercial potential). It's always been that way for all of their artists. Selena, Billie, M5, Gaga... so, so, so many examples of them dropping promotion almost immediately when they consider an era commercially over or no longer worth the financial investment. All of these artists have had their most recent eras cut short due to less than stellar commercial performance. It's very strange, imo, especially when you have labels like Capitol that will pour money into flops to make them successful. And it sucks because it's so limiting for an artist's long-term success. So ******* irritating.

Like Chromatica not having a follow-up to ROM is nothing short of bizarre, and them pulling it on radio after mediocre call-outs instead of pushing it harder and waiting for call-outs to improve (which they were) makes zero sense. It just seems like them wanting to maximize their profit and not waste money on promo/payola, even though the investment could pay off long-term. Very short-sighted and naive, imo, but that's how they've always been.

All these just to defend their INCOMPETENCE :dies:

I am telling you, the intro killed this song. It is an INSTANT SKIP.

Even myself, a Gaga stan, has had to remove it from my playlists because that intro sounds like nails scratching on a blackboard to me.

Should have opened straight with gaga's gorgeous vocals. Smh.

how long do you think people wait to skip a new song on spotify?

She truly has the most ridiculous team in the whole music industry, I can't believe it

in fact I just went to do the research

25% of people skip in first 5 seconds
30% of people skip in first 10 seconds

So, that means that over HALF of listeners only get to hear "Hold my..." before they decide to skip :psyduck:

TG:M tops the daily box office in my country for Wednesday, triple the #2. :gaycat2:

HMH is still N/A on all platform charts though.

People skips songs because they already know the whole song won’t be what they like. This doesn’t imply that if the first 5 seconds sound “bad” they would skip it. :rip:

This is a movie soundtrack. You'd have a point if it was a The Cure'd situation but HMH is attached to one of the biggest movies of all time. Your "research" has nothing to do with anything. You're also assuming/projecting that people are instantly turned off by the five second intro, which isn't even featured in the film. :skull:

After the success of Shallow, are we thinking people say "I know I won't like a lady gaga soundtrack song"?

Your receipt is void. And I don't argue to empty voids.

And where are the records of skip rates of HMH?

Anyway, stream Hold My Hands on Pop Rising Spotify!

HMH is doing better on YouTube than on Spotify

its weird ???

« Old » people use YouTube and Spotify users aren’t aware of this song :coffee:

The streaming generations will probably find out about HMH later by the words of mouth through their monthly phone calls to parents. :coffee:

iTunes Austria:

2. Hold My Hand (+1)

Shazam Austria:

69. Hold My Hand (+19)

AM Austria:

172. Hold My Hand (RE)

:clap3:
