I can't wait for the lead single of her next album to only be promoted via crop circles.  That's the trajectory she and her team are on.  You can hire a pilot to promote the song in the skies and get her prime performance spots at award shows, but don't want to pay to put her on the MOST important promotional playlist in the streaming age.  Let it sink in.  :juanny:

At this point, we should expect ROM to be her last hit. I understand this isn’t a lead single, but why send a soundtrack song to radio if you aren’t going to push it on streaming at all? ME/The Cure vibes.

I’m sure HMH will be a hit because the movie is getting raving reviews. It’ll be a hard road to #1 because of her team’s fight against playlisting :fan:

Yeah it’s criminal that this isn’t on TTH. If any other artist released this song, it would’ve been on TTH since release day & she would have the cover & #2 position this week. Complete incompetence

I mean, ****. Ariana got her Netflix movie song on TTH. Why is it so hard for us? It’s just not fair.

Wait, that's right. And that song was a literal parody. :rip:

All these theories to not simply admit her team sucks when it comes to playlisting. That's the actual hard truth.

Except playlisting is distribution which has been handled exclusively by the label since the dawn for time. It's literally one of the main functions of a record label :rip: Bobby is literally not the person in charge of her playlisting or radio. Y'all can drag her team for a lot of things, but they are by default not in charge of getting HMH on TTH.

On A Roll, a parody song for a Netflix EPISODE, was on TTH. :deadbanana: There are just no excuses. They just don't wanna playlist it.

It’s bc Gar doesn’t give a **** ab her music career anymore. Idk when she got the idea that she’s “above” promoting her music but she’s been very pretentious in that regard since The Cure. Hence, she employs her yes-men friends whose jobs are to do what she says. And clearly she doesn’t have the motivation to push her team or label in the slightest bit.

Yeah, it’s Interscope. She needs to just go to another label. Join Dua at Warner.

By team, I don't mean her manager, I mean the team that handles releases and distribution. I know it doesn't all fall on Bobby nn.

Because they don't follow logic, obvious things escape them, good promotional ideas not found, idk what else to say.  Also must note that if Gaga wanted her songs on TTH, they would be there.  If this was any other artist, they would be spamming the hell out of it on every playlist.  The only soundtrack single to a massive movie like Top Gun 2, widest theatrical release ever, commercials and promo everywhere, etc.  There is no better opportunity, and yet... :toofunny2:

Can she care to make three more songs become hits? Then she’ll have 20 top 10 hits on billboard and she can stop caring. :coffee2:

I think the fact that she didn’t even bother to commission an animated music video for SC, a song with one of the biggest YT acts on the planet, shows how little she cares. She didn’t even have to lift a finger to get +1B views & a possible #1 but let that go to the wayside :cm:

The song is literally rising everywhere as we speak and y'all are in doom mode. It's too much, honestly. Ya'll need to relax.

Even if it didn't, like.. y'all are worrying and stressing about some rich popgirl's Spotify playlist placement. Just..  it's wild. I think I've been here too long tbh.

She also has horrible placement on AM for what it’s worth. Not added to A-List Pop or Today’s Hits, and the playlists shes on (like Everyday Hits) she’s nowhere near the top tier. :rip:

The fact that Sine From Above is currently more popular on her AM page than HMH :deadvision:

This :rip:

Anyway,

Even if this were to completely bomb into oblivion (it won't), if it ends up sweeping awards season and getting nominated for/winning BOS, it would have done its job. Critics liking it is a good early sign.

I honestly think the song being on TTH could hurt it more than help it lol. People that listen to that playlist are looking for a very specific kind of song, and HMH doesn't fit that bill. The people that are going to stream it are not going to be the same people listening to TTH.

I kind of understand their strategy to go harder on radio and sales than streaming tbh. The streams will come naturally if the song ends up becoming a hit. And the biggest promotional tool of all - the movie - doesn't require artificial playlisting.

On that note, Interscope has always had a very specific and peculiar style of managing their artists. They give lots of artistic and creative freedom, and they are very selective in how much/how long they support singles and albums. If they don't see any future growth potential for a song or album, or if a single flops, they pretty much end the promotional cycle and refuse to push additional singles (even with albums that have so much commercial potential). It's always been that way for all of their artists. Selena, Billie, M5, Gaga... so, so, so many examples of them dropping promotion almost immediately when they consider an era commercially over or no longer worth the financial investment. All of these artists have had their most recent eras cut short due to less than stellar commercial performance. It's very strange, imo, especially when you have labels like Capitol that will pour money into flops to make them successful. And it sucks because it's so limiting for an artist's long-term success. So ******* irritating.

Like Chromatica not having a follow-up to ROM is nothing short of bizarre, and them pulling it on radio after mediocre call-outs instead of pushing it harder and waiting for call-outs to improve (which they were) makes zero sense. It just seems like them wanting to maximize their profit and not waste money on promo/payola, even though the investment could pay off long-term. Very short-sighted and naive, imo, but that's how they've always been.

Some people have been here a LONG time and still have enlisting femme-aneurysms at every last turn of the simplest event and play it off like they're just kikiing and have eternal knowledge. Truly an ARTform I couldn't even begin to embody.

Sure. Just like Shallow and ARUTW which were placed on TTH and more playlists on movie release week you mean?

HMH lost 1M reach like wtf are they even doing :rip:

Still can't believe Interscope really thought planes with small ass text "Hold My Hand" is a better promo than having a spot on TTH
