What I love about Chappel is that you can see the Gaga inspiration, but it's still very unique and her own. It's the kind of inspiration you'd hope to bestow on younger artists later, so it's a testament to Gaga's influence that her fans should celebrate and be proud of.

Her outfits don't really reflect how her music sounds tbh, you'd expect something more maximalist and bombastic - that's my only issue with Chappell. Her album is mostly mid-slow tempo. I'd stick with Femininomenon and Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl if you're looking for bops.

I will say about Chappell: Her uptempo songs sound A LOT better live with an actual band instrumentation. I did not like Pink Pony Club for example until I heard the live version of it. The Pink Pony Club studio version especially sounds super sterile, while it sounds like a mega smash live. I feel similarly about Red Wine Supernova.

 

Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl by Chappel is arguably the closest she has come to crafting actual perfection, both the studio and live versions are incredible.

 

Chappell also does objectively have a really good voice. No frilly whisper-pop, this b*tch is SINGING. So if this collab actually is real in any kind of way, we're gonna have our eardrums blown out just with the voices (akin to DWAS).

Another one of my favorites, I can see why it's a hit. It's catchy and has relatable lyrics 

 

Overall I'd say that I like her more on mid tempo personal songs rather that on nonsense pop songs. I really don't see how she and Gaga could match. Gaga always surprises with her collaborations and they usually are of good quality, even when they are superficial pop songs, so we'll have to wait and see. I would prefer a collaboration not happening or being with someone else, but if it happens I wouldn't be that mad now that I know Chaperone a little bit more.

 

 

 

 

 

i haven't heard a single song of hers in full so i can honestly say that i have no idea how a Chappell collab would sound like

she has a great voice from what i heard in that God Romance cover tho

Sadly I was not looking for bwaps, but I like her slow more personal songs, I think it suits her better.
