Funnily enough he co-wrote the hangover 3 (TERRIBLE MOVIE) with Craig Mazin (creator of Chernobyl and the last of us, but also the main writer of Scary Movie 3&4) so who knows, perhaps these guys where just waiting for their chance to switch to drama? But yeah, JFAD is indeed a huge risk, and it all depends on the GP's reception.
