Ultimately, I think this is all a result of certain fans being too engrossed in stan/ATRL culture where they still believe Gaga has something she needs to prove to the public because all they ever see is pathetic stans whacking her for everything she does lol. As you said, the public actually likes Gaga now and views her positively.

Well, I'm not the union leader. I only speak for myself, and I love her energy and voice in this performance. I've never cared about what others think.

I loved the Metallica performance. That was also almost 7 years ago, you're kind of proving the point. I get it's the Olympics, but she could choose something from her own catalog of music. If other people enjoy her constantly doing these covers of old jazz songs, that's great, I don't.

but thats the thing, I dont think she could've chosen something, I don't think its up to her to choose what to sing at the Olympic Games in Paris

And so if the Olympics reached out to her and invited her to perform La Vie en Rose or duet with Celine Dion, she should say no and that she will only perform a song from her own catalog?
