She literally said at the premier that new music was coming soon and even joked about how she's serious this time.

 

I know Liddos generally tend to be unreasonable but between verbal confirmation and the film having a snippet, I get why fans are frustrated.

I mean, she said those things when the snippet was still a surprise. Of course, she couldn't say "Yay, it's finished!" It would have ruined the surprise for the premiere on HBO.

The last I heard was that once work got underway in earnest, it became clear that an album this year was feasible. Obviously Joker 2 was the big focus for the back-half of the year, but I expect a rollout soon enough that can accommodate her prior commitments. But I wouldn't expect anything imminently.

to me this sounds like she only started working on a new album this year 

The way I had finally come to terms with a late 2024 or 2025 release and then she did the GCB teaser just to disappoint again  

I know a lot of fans are frustrated and want new music but tbh I rather have Gaga take her time, be passionate about the music and promote the **** out of it and truly give us an era. Than have a rushed mess just for everything to blow up on her face.
