I wouldn't call MTN unwatchable, but it definitely reached for heights it couldn't clear. Her acting in it was kinda

The way she weaves it so beautifully into the narrative and depicts grit, pain and power in that video is why she's THAT *****. It's truly a masterpiece. I love it so ******* much. These days they record songs over a weekend and submit to streaming platforms next Thursday.  

Gaga has only one bad music video. And it is Million Reasons 

ROM and 911 videos are career highlights. Stupid Love was a cute idea, the iPhone cheapness really downgraded it. Overall, the era served visually in a way she hadn’t since 2011.

 

Worst videos are Million Performances and The Waste of Glory.

 

 

What makes Million Reasons so bad is that there wasn’t even drama around it or some scrapped plan. Gaga actually put that together and thought it was okay.   The AUDACITY.

MTN is a great video. I can admit that the 2nd part is a bit messy, but like imagine thinking it's not at the very least a good video

I agree. Do I think Alice would have done much better than Stupid Love? No. It’s not modern-sounding or radio friendly, so it probably would have had a nice top 5 debut based on hype and fan engagement first week, and then slowly decline from there just like Stupid Love did. But Alice would have gotten a lot more acclaim and love from fans and non-fans and set the stage well for Rain on Me and Chromatica to be big successes. Stupid Love sort of put a damper on the “DanceGa making a comeback” hype.

Assuming it didn't leak like Stupid Love did, I actually think Alice could have debuted maybe Top 3 even because it's just a stronger song, but I agree that it likely wouldn't have smashed or anything. (Though I can see it doing far better in Europe.) Maybe 100-200M more Spotify streams than Stupid Love has and another 50-100M YouTube views if the video was as good as the song is. But yep, it would have set the era up better overall, even if it wasn't a massive smash.

 

I can definitely see why they went with Stupid Love since it's arguably the most radio-ready solo song from the album, but...it's just not a strong enough song to fill the massive shoes it needed to.

When you have THIS visuals for the MR video, but her prefer a white wall

There was some drama. A-YO was the original second single and Million Reasons why just supposed to be a promo single. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had an A-YO video planned out that they needed to scrap and replace with a quick lil MR video
