He was good and didn't spill any tea, although he mentioned them dancing in a dramatic scene outside the asylum with rain and fire which appears in the trailer now so I don't mind saying it. So I assume there are people around that we don't see in this second shot. 

 

 He did talk a bit about seeing Gaga work and how cool that was without breaking any NDA. Just that she was tirelessly doing takes over and over, even though at times it looked like she was in pain (he's not a Gaga fan, so he didn't realize she was sick until I mentioned it) and that she was very friendly waving to the extras etc

-w the exception of Transformers on the "all time trailer views" list - the rest (Endgame, IT, Love and Thunder, TLK) all made 700m+ bare minimum. IW had around 179m views and JFAD was 10m shy of that 

-these numbers are huge and even more so if we take into account that YouTube put a warning on the content of the trailer which limited its reach

-trailer views aren't the most significant metric of predicting box office but this movie topping Warners' list in recent years (matching/surpassing Barbie, Dune, etc) is notable imo

Wonder if it could pull like a Black Panther and the second film get some Oscar nominations and acclaim just like the first one.

It's supposedly gonna play at Venice in comp. Considering the direction, they intended this to be even more of a prestige and critical play than the first (imo).

Pardon my ignorance, but are all movies that playing at Venice in competition for the Golden Lion (I think that's what the award is)? I remember Joker won it back in 2019, and ASIB was played back in 2018. I'm assuming it was competing too, or is it possible for some films to just premiere for the buzz but not actually compete?

ASIB was not in competition. Sometimes they do that just to get the buzz. In competition for JFAD would show major confidence and would be wild since the first already won the top prize there.

No, there are some that are selected to play in competition and others that play as part of other other selections. Joker played in comp (and won the Golden Lion ) while ASIB was out of comp. Same thing with Cannes.

Yeah, festivals have competition and out-of-competition. I don't know if they'll put it for competition this time around considering the original already won and this is the sequel.

There's been some rumblings that they want it to be in comp. My bet is they're aiming for Gaga to win the Volpi and/or Todd the Silver Lion (Direction), assuming that's the case.
