My thoughts if something were to come, possible dates.

 

March 1 - Good date, I doubt Halsey will affect anything 

March 8 - Ariana

March 15 - Kacey (Interscope)

March 22 - if single comes it’ll drop positions next week due to Beyoncé, entire month is cluttered to begin with

March 29 - Beyoncé album

April 5 - Single might not chart as high because of Beyoncé album last week

April 12 -  Single will drop positions next week due to Taylor’s album 

April 19 - Taylor album

April 26 - Again single might not chart as high because of Taylor’s album drop 

May 3 - This is a good date, for single or album

May 10 - Could be a good week for single release (don’t see them dropping an album a week before/after Billie)

May 17 - Billie album

May 24 - Same argument from may 10

May 31 - Good date to release album; or single if we don’t have it by then

 

Realistically, the only dates I see her dropping are on March 1st, April 5, April 26, May 3, and May 31.
 

April 5 and 26 I’m more hesitant because those are Beyoncé and Taylor’s second weeks. Why are we ruling out June tho? The entire month seems to be open so it could come then too maybe cus of Vegas or cus it’s too close to FaD?

May 3 seems a bit early if they want the #1. Midnights did nearly 300k in its third week. Gaga will have a better chance of #1 for May 17, but apparently Billie is releasing them which screws things up.

 

The more I think about it I can see the album either in June or May 31, with a single in April. I don’t think they want more than a two month gap between the single & album (Joanne was six weeks & Chromatica was planned for the same timeframe until it got delayed)

I wonder what Grace is worried about in the last act of the movie

Act II isn’t pulling a Midnights/1989TV, only Taylor’s will be the obv threat

It’s hard to say what’s possible with Gaga’s first week without seeing how the lead single performs and what the album is like. 300K could either be doable or we could be looking at half that amount tbh, lol

It seems that Gaga will be returning to Vegas in June. Therefore, it may not be the best time to release new music if she will be locked up performing there for at least a month. Then, she has movie festivals in August/September and by October the Joker promo will be in full force. 

 

 

I believe Blade's suggestion presents the most favorable scenario. Who cares about Selena, Camila, or Halsey, Gaga need to release the lead single either tomorrow, the 23rd, or on March 1st. Delaying the release beyond these dates may compromise her commercial opportunities in Q1. 

As you mentioned, if Interscope prioritizes commercial success, there are limited favorable release dates in Q1 (besides tomorrow, January 23rd, or March 1st). Dua Lipa is not a straight to #1 artist and the only potential issue with Selena Gomez is that they are both signed to Interscope, otherwise is manageable.
