A rockGa album could be great, but I feel like liddos want a rock album to prove she’s a real artist and get that 81+ Metacritic score, but C2C, Joanne, and LFS all showed us that just because Gaga experiments with other genres does not mean critics will necessarily shower her with acclaim. I think a RockGa album would have similar critical and commercial prospects as Joanne, without a SBHT show to showcase any singles. 

Definitely agree that she doesn't need to have an extreme change in genre to release a good or acclaimed album. Though I would add that critics also tend to treat basic pop AC releases harsher since AC tends to be seen as well... basic, bland, unoriginal, etc. Her swerving into full AC was never gonna be acclaimed by critics since it's just not a genre they typically show a ton of respect to.

 

Imo, fans keep making it about what genre she needs to do but I think that it ultimately comes down to concept and execution. The main reason Chromatica got such strong reviews was because it was the first time in forever she released a cohesive, clear body of work with a strong grasp on its themes. It was a step forward in how she crafts an album and critics responded to that. She really needs to focus on making a strong body of work first and foremost

Sweet sounds out of the toilet will be a flop for sure so Gagz will be promoting it left and right. If it had potential to be huge she would act like it didn’t exist. Don’t we know this already?

SSOH for ROTY.

 

I checked their Grammy stats and they dont have a really good track for the legends they are. Only 3 wins out of 12 noms. 

Yeah SSOH came out at the beginning of the 2025 eligibility but since their album will also be in play it should hopefully give it some visibility a year from now during voting. And luckily the lead single is out of the way since it’s eligible for the upcoming ceremony. 

Truly amazing that I, a Gaga stan, have blocked more Gaga stans on this site than OGH.
