Okay so I’ve talked with someone who’d know this kind of stuff and apparently her team’s been messaging back and forth with Jeff Bhasker about an apparent studio session supposedly happening in June/July. This doesn’t mean something is coming soon but yea felt like sharing because it’s pretty dry in this base so that might bring some hope to the fanbase when it comes to new music. I wouldn’t expect anything earlier than 2024 but you never know. 

There's no way some of you genuinely believe that she hasn't written a single new song in the last THREE years

 

The only thing obvious enough IMO, both as a result of passage of time and a surface-level observation of her career at this stage in her life, is that we're in the middle of experiencing longer wait times between her music eras from here on out. There's a noticeable change in her pace of releasing albums now that she's 15+ years into her career and music isn't her sole priority anymore.

 

That said, we also still have to keep in mind that she's a songwriter first and foremost, something that she has always prided herself in since the very beginning. She's always writing new songs and coming up with new melodies, scribbling in a notepad, recording on her phone, playing a chord idea on her piano etc. She's also a really skilled multi-tasker and can effectively manage doing multiple things at once. But even if you take that out of the equation, she has still had multiple, sometimes months-long gaps between all her different projects since.

 

We also have excerpts from different interviews (going back as much as early 2021) that vaguely hint at her being in some sort of a transitional phase:

So... yeah. I just don't think she's waiting until 2025/26 to put out a new album. That's too long a wait and there's still almost a year before the JFAD promo campaign rollout begins. It's possible, sure, but I'm not buying it just yet.

One of my favourite things about the Chromatica era was the fact it was a summer release. Having an album for winter is no fun.

SPILL. I don't buy this insane idea thay she hasn't worked on or recorded any music just because we personally haven't seen her photographed going into a studio.

 

I feel like she said way back in the day that she worked on hundreds of songs for Artpop. She likely has a similar process for all her albums.

The thing is, it really doesn’t matter whether she has or hasn’t worked on new music. We’re not getting an album before 2026 regardless.

Gaga is always working on music in some capacity…. But 

 

When she is focused on working on an album, she posts about it. This is true for every single one of her albums. 
Based on her past behavior, it would be unusual for her not to do that.

 

It seems pretty clear that she has not made any major progress towards LG7. Maybe she is finally taking a break. 
 

We know for a fact that she has been working on Haus Labs and I’m sure she will need to do stuff for Biden’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. LG7 is not a priority for her right now. 
 

If she started seriously working on LG7 this summer, she could definitely release it in early 2024 and then go on tour after the JFAD award season. That seems very  possible. 
2025 is also very likely if she follows the ASIB-Chromatica release schedule

it's just based on people expecting her to post herself in the studio 24/7... but she is growing and she also said she was more about working on her own and not letting too many people know

And people act like she "has" to release after Joker just like they said she had to release soon after ASIB to capitalize on hype, which she didn't do. They'll release when it slots into her schedule best. And who's to say that she won't film multiple projects post-Joker (especially if she were to win another Oscar) or do something extensive like a TV show or Broadway, making 2024 the best time to release anyway? 

 

I'm not betting on anything, but there are logical arguments why she could release before or after the film. Let's hope she comes back to music swinging regardless.
